Thanks for this cool application, looks like it is just what I need.

However, when I go through the process you described, it creates the grid, and when I try to export the TB maps the program crashes ( "The program has encountered an error and needs to close")

Any suggestions on a workaround for this?

Thanks for a great tool. Makes building maps that much easier.

Have a weird problem that seems to be happening though and I'm not sure whether it's because of the program or because of TrekBuddy. I have built maps at different zoom levels (7, 9, 11, 13, 16) and have noticed that when I turn on GPS and start using it to navigate between the various zoom levels, I'm noticing that at lower zoom levels (i.e. 7, 9, 11), I'm not where I should be. When I'm at closer zoom levels (i.e. 13, 16), things seem to be ok. I'm also not talking a few lines from where it should be, I'm talking a completely other state or in the water (at zoom 7). At zoom 9, I'm only a few blocks away, and at zoom 11, a few streets away.

Anyone else seem to have this issue?

I have the same problem with TrekBuddy. In some maps mistake was about 25km to the north.

It's easy for checking up. Create map for Ozi and the same for TrekBuddy, then load a track or waypoint. The track will not move in Ozi at different zooms/maps.

Fantastic application, but could you add an option to choose tile size (I mean for biger phone screens like 240x320)?

Hi, thanks for the great application, seems to work really well and makes the whole process a lot easier. It's by far the best gmaps to tb scraper out there.

I'm a Vista user and had a couple of problems getting the program to run at first.
a) The program looks to be written in VB5, with Vista not shipping with a VB5 runtime, so when you start it you'll get a complaint that Msvbvm50.dll is missing. Simply download the dll from here:
http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?msvbvm50
unzip it and put the dll file in the same directory as googleak.exe Vista may still tell you that it wants to check for compatibility and the program is incompatible, just hit cancel and the program will start up. (Maybe the dll can be included in the googleak zip file by default?)

b) The program will attempt to register a component when it runs for the first time, due to Vista's UAC this will fail, with the result being that Googleak will most likely fail subsequent attempts to run it. When you are running it for the first time you *have* to make sure that you right click on the exe and select "Run as Administrator". That should be it. I don't think that running as Admin is necessary on subsequent times.

Update v.6
1) .map files are created w/o space before projection name, which confused TB too much. This is the reason why in some maps you could have a shift in TB, but in ozi all tracks were loaded perfectly.
http://www.trekbuddy.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=8083#8083

2) Changing dimension of tiles

3) Saving created track in gpx format to use it as route in TB

Thanks for the update Olegich! The maps seem to be positioned better now that the space is removed.
