Google's historical maps are available only through Google Earth application.
MOBAC accesses Google Maps repository. Google Earth uses quite different repository, which is accessible only from Google Earth application.

Google has also historical maps. Will it be possible in future to get them via MOBAC?

Suisse online maps are already there, check "Map+" in MOBAC.

Well to say the truth - I don't like GUI programming - especially Java GUI programming. It is complicated and preserving usability is a lot of work.
Additionally I don't have much time and motivation for implementing new features in MOBAC. I only keep the back-end up-to-date and add, improve and integrate features others have developed.
Finally, personally I am satisfied with the features available in MOBAC.
Therefore it is not planned to change anything GUI related in the next time - sorry.
If anybody is interested in developing the requested GUI features feel free to write it and send me the diff-file.

Hi and thanks for the great tool ;)

I was wondering if it's possible to implement a "Polygonal Selection" option as well to create atlases (i.e selecting boundries of a country). Rectangular selection creates a large amount of unwanted map tiles, uses a lot of bandwidth and disk space.

I'm using the software in a country in which the fastest home connections are below 128kb/s. this feature would be a great optimization over all.

Cheers ;)

Thanks mobrob, that did the trick!

Hi

i am neither an expert on java or the MOBAC Framework but i tried do integrate an output atlas for NaviComputer. This works a "little" but to build the MapInfo Table is my problem. How can i get the Summary

zoom MinX MaxX MinY MaxY

from each zoomlevel. Must i collect the Min(x), Max(x), Min(y), Max(y) values self in the "createMap()" routine, wich is called multiple times on the same layer?

Can anybody help me?

Thanks Achim

Ps: I have made a request on Sourcforge with a working AtlasCreator Codesample (NaviComputer.java) for Navicomputer. I hope you optimize the code and integrate it.

Hello, is it possible to set overlapp by autocut feature on large areas, and is it possible to edit cut rectangles by simple moving the edges by mouse?

Hi,

MAC seems to be a great package, but I've run into a problem trying to use 1.8a15 on a Mac (Mac OS X 10.6.4) to create offline maps for OruxMaps on Android.

Although Mac OS X is Unix-based, the instructions for installing the SQLite wrapper at file:///Users/jim/tmp/Mobile%20Atlas%20Creator%201.7/README.HTM#SQLite don't work, apparently because it is not sufficiently like Linux, and the SQLite libs and headers are not where (or what?) they're expected to be.

Has anyone got around this on a Mac?

Thanks for any help!

Hi! Thanks for your sorfware. I like it very much! A little suggestion, can you add a function so that I can selet multiple grids otherwise use mouse to drag and select?
I mean, if i want to create a atlas for a area, a county or a privence. It's makes the file size very big if I press mouse and drag to select a square or a oblong area for a lot of useless data. If I can select mutiple grid use a hot-key, for example, Ctrl, it will make it's more flexible to create a atlas.
Thanks!

No, you have to create the map again.
