An additional view on speed, distance, time.

So let's say if speed is below threshold (eg. 0.5km/h), its good to have another field called "Idle Time", which is time stationary or not moving. So "Idle Time" + "Moving Time" would give "Trip Time". From there, others fields could be derived: "Trip Average", Speed (Total distance/trip time), "Moving Average Speed", which is the total distance over the moving trip time, which would give a more accurate "average speed".

exactly. thats whats needed

gpx raw is nice as well, but it produces huge files...but it's really extremely accurate!

but the smart gpx tracklog seems to have changed since last version and produces much less accurate files now. am i right with this? before, smart gpx was accurate enough to be displayed it google earth, but now, this is not fun anymore, because it's too inaccurate. so, i think, you need to change something there...

I observe it too. Default gpx is now using less points than before. Before i could put it on map and it exactly fit, now i can't :(

today i am testing 09.5.5 on my SXG75
good work !!
but now i have a problem with (tared)atlas loading.
i Create a atlas with Googlehack2 of some citys and its works fine in any layers... but if i put a map (steetmap) of a country (more the 1000 KM)
then i cant load the atlas.
( _EVENT FAILURE_(code6;result 'null'throwable java.lang. NULLPointerException.....)

i can load with maploading the same map without Problems. atlas with 1 layer and 1 map with big distance its impossilbe to load. the single map its OK.
i think it is a bug in atlas Loading.

all maps and atlases works fine in TBMapper.

Some ideas for improvements:
For CMS:
-Is it possible to place here a small graphic like the usual crosshair cursor but pointing the difference {wpt-azi}-{course}?
It shows the direction to the destination relative to the movement.
If no destination wavepoint is defined it could show the usual compass like in the HPS.
-New values for CMS:
VMG = "Velocity make good" = {spd} * cos({wpt-azi}-{course})
ETE = "Estimated time enroute" = {wpt-dist} / VMG : The estimated time needed to come to the destination point.
ETA = {time} + ETE = estimated time of arrival.

The same atlas worked in previous versions? So you can load every single map from the atlas, but cannot load the whole atlas?

May be it overlaps with HPS, but I think it could be nice to be able to place in CMS a small arrow like in that Krzysiek design cms193.jpg from your post from Fri Mar 23, 2007 5:37 pm:

http://www.trekbuddy.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=254&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=30

I think it could be easy to take for that just the cross hair cursor as it is?

(Nice to hear that you work already on ETA..
may I remind you also to improve the nautical view with velocity format xx.x and distance x.xxx M for small distances?Rolling Eyes)
TrekBuddy is really great! Very Happy

- krzysiekz's idea of arrow is nice; ok
- done x.xxx for distance both M and km units "view" mode
- got {wpt-vmg} and {wpt-eta}

As far as I remember, the "show trajectory" functionality was disabled because the trajectory wasn't visible well. (I could be wrong).

There's one thing I'd like to discuss. Namely, my BT GPS doesn't send the azimuth in NMEA when I just walk with it (quite slowly). It's MTK chipset and it just works like that (I think it was created mainly for driving). Therefore I can't see on the compas where I am going to when walking Smile To see the azimuth I have to speed up the walking for about 1 second (actually running works the best) - But imagine how surprised people around me are when I do that Laughing

Would it be possible to calculate the azimuth taking into account the position change and make this as an option? (maybe it is already... somewhere)

Thanks
Chris
