Hello folks,
I've got a question on how to scale maps.

I'm using different sources for the map data, calibrate them with Ozi, cut them with TBCutter, tar them and finally use them on my C702. Everything works out perfectly, except that I totally fail to take any influence on the scale of the maps.

So, what determines the scale of the maps? Is it the size of the map.jpg (as in pixels x pixels) and the calibration, is it the tile size in TBCutter?

F.e. I have a map, 5772*3920pixels. Size in reality 5.8*4km. Now, what do I need to do, to get that into a 1:25000 scale?

Thanks in advance,
Jonas

The scale is "hidden" in the DPI the original map was scanned with (if in paper form) or rasterized with (if paper form has been skipped - the map has been created straight electronically) and also in the DPI of the display of your mobile. You can influence the scale by resampling the map - but in most cases you must recalibrate then.
Howewer the "absolute" scale is not the matter. What is essential is if you see enough details on your display, if details are legible etc.
