Hi,

TB 0.9.81 is running fine on my Blackerry Bold 9000 so far.
A minor issue seems to be that the data of internal GPX receiver isn't recorded correct, I never saw a 3D fix, just only 2D no matter how many sats can be viewed.

Perhaps the Bold isn't providing this information and TB simply assumes that is 2D even if it also could be 3D.

If I can help with that by providing any sample data, please let me know.

Stefan

Has someone a solution?

I guess that is so.
Anyway you could try to record a short NMEA log and send it to me...

If we consider GSA sentence to be the only authoritave source for determing 2D/3D fix "quality", then such info is really missing in the NMEA stream in BB 9000, beucase it only contains GGA and GLL.

Honestly I do not know how it is evaluated and what it really means, but with 8 satellites being tracked (your sample) and reasonable altitude value I would consider the fix to be 3D Cool

It's really the BB who does not serve the information.

So there are two possible workarounds:

- Do not show any information about fix (actually it says 2D in every case)

- If there are less than 4 sats or no altitude is provided, it should say 2D, 4 or more sats and vaild altitude it should say 3D

I would prefer the first one. Perhaps RIM will add the information later with a newer firmware.

BB does not expose certain GPS data to the "user" however there are engineering test modes the BB can be placed in that show its receiving/writing logs with the following NMEA sentences:
GSA
RMC
GGA
VTG
GSV

Unfotunately this probably means RIM would need to write the API's to expose that data to applications. Sad

~Sorry and 2D/3D designation IS made within the GSA sentence in BB test mode.. Sad Sad
