Depends. There are few known modes from other tools.
One is, that you have not changing azimuth to wpt from starting position and current azimuth (course) and counted difference between them in meters.
Second, more usefull for hiking, is that I know azimuth to target which isn't North oriented, but depends on my current course (gives answer how I should change my current course to get target).

Very well, I'll revoke the wpt azimuth change. Anyway, "absolute"/"North-oriented" azimuth is shown on map screen... or... maybe I'll let users select "azimuth" mode on HPS...

Also, I just found (and fixed) a bug in scaling on HPS Smile

Thanks!

I think azimuth arrow on map screen should be hidden when speed = 0. Or be switchable in options (show always/only when moving).

Kruch,
Did you changed something in map scrolling ?
I have map frozen near location on pict (center of map) in emu
when wpt is set ? Other settings shown on second pict.
After wpt Clear All map is scrolling correctly.

Speed=0 ? Rather status showing that course is valid or not.

Yes... I've changed arcsin() impl as well as distance calculation... the freeze may be caused by infinite loop or something... Sad

Kruch,
I have a couple of question about Datums, Projection and Coords settings in RC2.
First, Map Datum is removed now from settings. Why ? This way no info about jad defined datums is avaible and no possibility to select default datum (can be usefull for gmi now, but not only). As I understand, WGS84 is default.
Second, decimal precision is still in desktop settings, but indeed is used for Lat/Lon coordinates only.
Coords have own submenu now, so logically is to have precision settings in this submenu (if not so difficult).
Third, what about Mercator projection ? It is widely used in sea navigation and exists in some mapping services too.
Nothing special is needed for Mercator implementation.

Edit: Maybe is better that TB defaults to Lat/Lon when projection is unknown (not defined in TB)?

1) It seems to me this that without the gps module enabled it is not stored anywhere. I.e. I can find it on the list but the manually added waypoints are not stored in any .gpx file.

When in offline mode trekbuddy doesn't ask me if I would like a tracklog.

Maybe when entering a waypoint manually in offline mode trekbuddy should ask if I would like a new tracklog to be created?

2) I don't remember what is the situation when connected with the gps module but I guess when in tracklog mode they are stored in the tracklog

Ranger:

- Default Datum is back Wink
- options grouping is not ideal, I agree, will change it in future
- TB fallbacks to Latitude/Longitude projection for .gmi

temptrekbuddy:

- custom (ie. manually-entered) waypoints are not persisted by current versions - next (0.9.6) will focus on waypoints; I'll collect all requrements soon

My understanding og [b]hegi[b]'s comments is that you can save tracklogs, but not memory card (I do not remember the proper fs root...)[/quote]

What do you mean that "tb does not know the position in the map"?
