I am quite used to creating trekBuddy maps from images calibrating them with oziExplorer and GoogleEarth and then slicing with TB Cutter. everything worked fine so far but I am experiencing problems with one map.

the image is pretty large, 6000x4000 pixels, covering an area of about 400x300km. when I test the calibration with oziExp./googleEarth it's simply perfect. however, once sliced and uploaded to trekBuddy it gives errors of about 2'. the image has meridians and parallels that I use to calibrate. what i found is that the angle between these meridians and parallels is not 90° and what is supposed to be a square [rectangle] looks more like a trapezium. I guess this causes the problem although it seems it is not an issue with oziExplorer. any ideas how to fix it?

tnx in advance!

Please check that TB understands projection and datum correctly (Info->Technical->Map) first..

Could you share your map with me (eg. via rapidshare)? I suspect the map is not really using Lat/Lon projection, but since TrekBuddy has much less sophisticated calculation than Ozi, it fails in such situations..

I sugest you try different projection.. I would bet this map is not using latLon projection... do not change existing cal points, only select Transverse Mercator instead of Latitude/Longitude, with Projection Setup with
- central meridian 24 degrees
- scale factor 0,9999
- false easting 500000
and datum European 1950

With attached .map file, your map works good in TB...
