Hi there!

Is scrolling fast in every direction but one?!? Confused

On my E61i, scrolling maps shows a very strange behaviour. First of all, there are a few things that I did to my E61i. I changed the keymapping so that I can use the number keys as they are intended to be used (e.g. 2, 4, 6 and 8 for scrolling).
I first encountered a few mapping problems, but this is the final solution I came up with:

Code:
109=48
114=49
116=-1
122=51
102=-3
103=53
104=-4
118=55
98=-2
110=57
117=42
106=35

As one can see, I've mapped the 2, 4, 6 and 8 (which are actually t, f, h and b) to the "joystick" directions, so basically the stick and they keys should do the same.

Now comes the stange part: not only is scrolling with the keyboard way faster than by joystick, but also it is very fast but right! First I thougt this might be related to the crosshair's position on the map, but I crosschecked that and it seems neither related to a certain position nor a certain map:

- Scrolling with the keyboard is way faster than with the joystick (although it should be remapped equally)
- Scrolling is fast in every direction but right

Any hints? Wink

I could try to film it somehow if this would be helpful in any way...

Bye
Steffen

Same here with E61. Scrolling by keyboard is quite fast except remapped "H" key.

Hi,
Below keymap.txt which results in fast scrolling using both joystick and keyboard of E61, with one exeption ('6" scrolls left when kept pressed).
109=48
114=49
116=-1
122=51
102=-3
103=53
118=55
98=-2
110=57
117=42
106=35
104=-4
50=-1
56=-2
52=-3
54=-4

To solve the probem with '6', I modified keymap.txt as follows:
103=-4
104=53.
The modification exchanges functions of '5' and '6' keys and results in proper handling of scrolling both with keyboard as well as joystick - without exceptions.

Anybody has an idea why such keymap.txt works at all?

good luck,
ytplanet
