|
|
Kruch. Have loved TB for nearly a decade now... Thank you!!
But I downloaded v1.32 to my reliable old Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 running Android v 4.3. TB has always worked on this in the past.
Now SOME atlases don't load, even though the underlying maps do.
Screenshot attached.
Can't figure it out.
from one of the subfolders.
But seems like the code (sometimes) appends the top folder name to the .tba.
Fingers crossed you can figure it out...
Thanks
Will attach a . tba from an atlas that does not load, and a .map and .set to posts below

Why do you have
as atlas header visible in error message on attached pict ?
Seems like cr.tba filename extension changed some way .... cause main folder name is visible but as TDMB2 ?
So it is not atlas folder name added to header exactly. Card reading problem ?

Thanks Ranger.
I've triple checked, and the atlas file does have extension tba.
The filename seems to be getting appended programatically when TB tries to open it. If I instead go to a .map file within the same atlas it opens ok (as a map but of course not as an atlas).
Weird - I've tried several atlas re-builds using TBmm and MOBAC. Some atlases work while others replicate this error, but I can't see a pattern.
Cheers.

Message says:
Not a directory /storage/extSdCard/TrekBuddy/maps/TDMB2/cr.tbaTduMB2
What "TduMB2" exactly is ?
Don't seems like main atlas folder, visible in path as "TDMB2" ...
BTW, why you don't use packed maps atlas on Android ?

TduMB is a holder for the layers as in the attached.
I'll check out the advantages of packed atlases and maps ...
Just popping out for an hour ...

OK, as I see on next pict, TduMB2 is just one layer name in atlas
So question is, why layer name isn't recognized sometimes as folder by app ...
What about app Settings, Desktop, EasyZoom ? Auto is used ?

Easyzoom was Auto.
I switched to "Layers" but then had the same problem.
Switched back to "Auto" and still the prob.
I'd wondered whether having **spaces** somewhere in file- or folder- names in the folder structure would cause a problem, but no: other atlases with **spaces** work fine.
I did re-build the whole Trekbuddy folder when I downloaded the new version last week, so I think that is all uptodate. Am reluctant to format the card and re-load everything though
Perhaps I should re-install TB. My 1.32 version came from Google Store.
Thanks

Pls don't use EasyZoom Layers setting for such atlas structure
If you change Auto/Layers/Off atlas should be loaded again to see effect.
For collecting packed maps in atlas the same way like for cr.tba you do, it is enough to use new atlas header introduced in 1.28 and have maps packed.
Header is available for download on forum
http://www.trekbuddy.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7653
or you can just pack cr.tba to tar file (means have cr.tar instead).
GooglePlay 1.32 version should work, but Android users rather plays with packed atlases
Question now is - what is different in unpacked atlases working for you ?

Thanks kruch.
So should I:
1. Use the my-atlas.tar file instead of the .tba I have been using
2. Re-do all the maps e.g. in MOBAC specifying "packed" instead of unpacked? I've jsut continued to use unpacked from agse ago since theyn always worked. but should I now change them all if using Andriod?
Thanks

Yep, there is no reason to play with a lot of tile files instead of packed maps for Android.
New atlas header gives opportunity to change packed atlas content any time by simply add/remove maps to/from layers, the same way like it worked for unpacked atlases from years.
The only difference is, that Mobac creates fixed content header for packed TB atlases and it should be replaced by new one to have atlas flexible for changes, even in phone.

Thanks Ranger / kruch.
OK I'll try tonight and re-post tmrw.
I suppose I was thinking it would take much longer for the phone to load an entire large (packed) atlas rather than the (unpacked) tiles.

Thanks kruch - I think that worked. Much appreciated.
Just have to find an atlas converter now, for the maps that are not in my MOBAC tilestore!
