Thumbs up for the fixed cross hair option. However as ranger noticed, track lines and way point icons aren't drawn in the right place. Judging by the navigation arrow the way point moves correctly but the icon stays behind.

If you run TB quickly I turn the compass (the icon in the lower right corner), the program sometimes hangs. In version 1.2.5 works correctly.
Nokia N8, Symbian Belle.

There is a huge bug when loading a wrong map file (I do not remember what i clicked with the touchscreen) : tb has crashed but when I reload it, i got a "wrong map file, select a correct one". Exept it was not possible to do anything. I had to un/reinstall it.
I don't know why but all zoom functions have disappear (both touchscren key and volume swithes).
In any cases thank you for your great job !

I would need the wrong map file, because I tried several options but could not reproduce it (corrupted tar file, missing set folder etc).
Was it on Android, WP or Symbian?

Was about to post my féedback but is about the same as matjazz described .Fixed crosshair will be a great adition if it works, and i think it would make a nice feature if trekbuddy had the "Stock" crosshair with the large heading mark like in the screenshots of Matjazz. Its very helpfull when using android under bright light as a quick glance is enough to tell if arrow to next wpt and heading mark are aligned or not, more so when ridíng mtb.

|
|
Hello kruch,
I try to connect my android phone with a bluetooth gps as the internal gps is very slow and inaccurate. But when I try to connect, the bluetooth GPS is listed by TrekBuddy but then it fails to start it. In technical info I got the following provider error :
java.lang.SecurityException : Need BLUETOOTH_ADMIN permission : Neither user 100071 nor current process has android.permission.BLUETOOTH_ADMIN.
Could you please add the permission to the apk ?
Thank you

Hi, that is strange because I also use external BT with Android phone without such problem.
Is it Android v4.2 (there are several bug reports in AOSP for 4.2)? Or KitKat, again?
Of course I can add the permission.

Woow faster than speed of light
It is a Chinese android rugged phone with mediatek chipset and stock Chinese rom with android 4.2.2 and kernel 3.4.5. I can collect more information if you need, but probably we can first just try with the added permission.
Cheers,
Nibbler

Actually it's working, the apps don't crashes, it just says that the map is not a map (when selecting a wrong file). I am able to select a goos map (android neewbie, sorry).

My fault again, I opened the map instead the atlas.
But today I have a problem that I cannot resolve : when starting tracklog
"Unable to launch trace acquisition: file///storage/sdcard1/trekbuddy/tracks-gpx/....gpx java.io/IOEXCEPTION : open failed: EACCES (permission denied).
The param/applications/trekbuddy/permissions shows that SD card read/write acces is allowed.
Thank you for your help :)

BLUETOOTH_ADMIN: http://www.trekbuddy.net/dev/2014-08-07/trekbuddy.apk
SD write access: is it v4.4? there are some SD card compatiblity changes in 4.4. You can try to rename tracks-gpx (or wpts) and let TB create it, but I was told it may not help when application was installed before v4.4 upgrade. So either uninstal/install again (only configuration should be lost), or change datadir to point to internal memory (maps can still be loaded from anywhere).

Thank you kruch, I confirm that with the new permission it works fine now
Edit : just a little cosmetic detail I've noticed with the external gps as it can pick up more satellites than the internal one, it seems that in the main screen OSD upper band the number of satellites is not displayed if there are more than 12 satellites (the number is yet correctly displayed in CMS themes).
