Hello. I have Blacberry 8800 and i installed TrekBuddy without problems. Seems it works fine. I just dont know how to set scrolling speed. BB8800 has "trackball" which does not work like joystick of other devices so Scroll Delay does not work for it. The problem is that scrolling is currently so slow that i cannot overview map (ex. to see what is on the left).

Scrolling with trackball is slow? How about scrolling with keys? I'll check if there's anything I can do about it...

Yes, it moves like pixel by pixel. So you should rotate trackball about 30x that you move map for one "screen". Scrolling by keys is slow too, it doesnt work if you just keep a button presed (it does not repeat keys but seems like it was presset only once so it moves for only one little move). Hope you understand what i want to tell Smile

Hi Kruch,

I can exactly confirm ylook's point with 0.9.60 and BB8800. What he means is, there is no key-repeat on contionous holding down the keys.

Also, it would come handy to have a remapping option of number-keys to letter-keys. eg. backlight toggle(3) and zoom to current positon (5) work only by pressing alt+r(=3) / alt+5(=d). ... you get the point?

Thanks

Hegi

OK. I'll have a look at the key mapping.

I wonder if you could check the effect of having

S60renderer on
forcedGC off

in Settings->Tweaks on scrolling. It seemed to have positive impact on scrolling performance on 7100 device.

In Info->Desktop, hasRepeatEvents is true or false?

I'm currently playing with better trackwheel/ball handling for Blackberry, it is funny how one can mix midp and blackberry api in a single application. Smile

Here's something for some kind BB (OS 4.2) owner-tester Wink

- experimental trackwheel/ball handling and faster scrolling (when numeric keys are used and a key is pressed for a longer time; no automagic alt-remapping - I haven't figured it out yet)
- fixed (?) course arrow drawing
