I recently bought a "Pipo S1 PRO" 7" android tablet.
I loaded Trek Buddy and transferred my maps from my old phone.
I works OK.
However it doesn't have GPS.
I sort of toyed with the idea of a bluetooth dongle to use with my old bluetooth GPS. But I don't think Bluetooth is a good idea.
So suspect a USB GPS may be the way to go.
Any ideas if this would work ??
Any recommended dongles ??
Thanks
Jim

As you probably know TB is implemented in Dalvik. GPS dongle driver for Android version you have is needed, USB is used in tablets for many different things.
And GPS dongles are rather bigger than micro BT dongles, so think twice Smile

Thanks, so is there a recommended GPS for an android tablet that does not have BT.

Can you point me at a known working device on a tablet.

Sorry, but it is not TB problem indeed.
Probably you should search first for working on this tablet USB GPS or USB BT devices. It is hardware problem.
Some tablets already have built-in BT interface or GPS receiver and have system drivers that can be used by apps like TB.

OK I agree it's not a TB problem.
But hoped someone had a working device they could advise on.
Thanks

There are hundreds of Android devices equiped with gps receiver (or BT interface) working with TB, so it is rather rare problem. Pipo S1 doesn't have both ...
Why you don't try to ask ie device community first, how to add needed equipment ?
