Hi all,

I made a new CMS theme. Smile

It is primarily intended for car use, hence BIG digital speed display.

It is made to fit on 240x320 resolution.

I tested it on 3 Nokias, and it works perfectly on:
- Nokia N73
- Nokia 6120 Classic
- Nokia 6600 Slide

I don't have anything else to test on, so this is the best I can give so far. Smile

I made 4 versions, only colours are different:
- orange
- blue
- red
- green

I figured these 4 colours cover 98% of car dashboard colours that are in use. Smile

Things that might need modification:
- change avg speed to avg moving speed

Please comment and make suggestions. Hope you find it useful and enjoy it.

Viktor

Excellent CMS, it replaced my ordinary car speedometer Very Happy Finally I can tell a policeman some exact numbers Laughing

The only problem is if max/avg speed is over 100 and actual speed too -- then some pixels get washed from avg/max speed number, but it's a minor cosmetic drawback (tested on Samsung i560). Maybe this only happens after some 200-300 km passed...

I'm glad someone finally likes the theme! Replacing/better in-car speedometer was the primary reason why I made it! Very Happy

Hm, I thought that that thing with high speeds might happen, but I never tested the theme with such high speeds. I did imagine that speeds would have to be over 199 for numbers to overlap, but obviously not?

Is there a chance that you post a screenshot? Or a replayable log so I can actually test it with TB myself?

Viktor

Hmmm... I don't know how to "replay" waypoints... Maybe I can managed to create a snapshot next week upon return home.

Situation is simple... driving more than 100km/h with avg and max over 100km/h following is displayed (as an example):

Max
130.5
Avg
122.2

[Current]
131.8

Pixels on the very rigth from Max and Avg numbers are "washed out". Just a last segment from "LED" is missing, seems current speed overlaps max and avg, thus cropping some pixels.

But as I wrote, this is only minor problem, almost invisible Smile

Since I upgraded to Samsung Wave, I made some modification to original theme and resized it for 480x800 screen. It is optimized for TB in non-full screen mode. You also have to turn off virtual keyboard (Games and mode, options, Use virtual keyboard, turn off for Trekbuddy) and turn off resize to screen feature (again options, adjust to screen (or something), turn off for Trekbuddy application).

I also minimized number of fonts, there are only 3 LCD (small, medium and big) plus system font. Labels even on medium size are barely readable, I decided to use small for them. Anyway it enables system font the way how you set it for phone.

The only problem is the status icon, which is very tiny - anyone knows how to make it bigger?

I would like to see that added to the Resources folder so we can configure our personal icon.

Hi all,

since I upgraded to Blackberry Z10, also my favorite theme should. I made a few adjustments and created a new one, this time with "Ford Focus" colors Smile I tried to match the car computer as much as possible, which is not an easy task to do without colorimeter... using snapshot from mobile is not that good. So I might tweek it later after some usage.

Meantime, I upgraded all the previous color combinations and merged "night green + day orange" into "uni" file. These are the colors I use 90% of the time.

Anyone knows how to use font wider than 3000px??? I suspect Kruch didn't predict the screen size & resolution evolution... Wink
For any experimentator there is a font named "digital_very_big.png", mapped in CMS xml files... download CMS Editor, do some GIMP/Adobe homework and try it! So far I've tried to use the original ones as much as possible, but some bigger font would make those CMS much more usable.

For anyone interested in mentioned Blackberry Z10 device, see this thread.
