The only atlas format that may suite your needs is the "Paper Atlas PNG" format. It definitely preserves the PNG transparency.

Thanks. The paper atlas format useful for me. Transparency is ok. I not understand 100% the paper atlas generation process. I want to generate big merged map from tiles, with 1:1 original size (without any distorsion).
I set to "selection", "margins" to 0, 'crop" 0, all "additions" unset . I cannot set overlap to 0, it has a minimum 0,09cm.
The final (small test) image size i think is ok, but i not know overlap parameter used?
The original size important, i use two layers in image editor. 1 layer scanned map. 2 layer = this map for reference. First layer will adjust to same as 2 layer. Next, first layer cutted to tiles and will use with trekbuddy.

About that recent blocking of MOBAC by OSM.....
..if MOBAC were more simulating browser usage patterns and had strong limitation of bandwidth, it would not happen.
No normal browser online map usage
has avarage hourly bandwidth 1 Mb/s, or even much more,
as MOBAC BW limiting settings allow.
While browser usage of online maps is like hunting game with javelins and bows,
map downloaders are like hunting game with automatic guns, Kalashnikovs and grenades.
Shoot what you can, as there can be no game tomorrow.
It had to happen sooner or later, same as the protecting game against mass shooters. I have predicted it on this forum long ago.
People are greedy of data and impatient to wait.

Hello !
I have created for a map a .xml. All is good but Y is wrong (North in South).
I have searched on Custom XML Map Sources (SourceForge.net).
I found this line :
<invertYCoordinate>true</invertYCoordinate>
But Mobac (last version) don't walk with this new line, do you know why ?
What is the solution ?
Thanks.

Hi bartho1,
may be your MOBAC version is too old?
The invertYCoordinate attribute is supported since MOBAC 1.9.2 (see Changelog).

Hello !
I have the last one : 1.9.8. I try with versions from 1.9.2 to the latest : same problem. WinXP SP3
Line I have added :
<invertYCoordinate>true</invertYCoordinate>
Message of error is :
ERROR [main] MapPackManager: [severity=ERROR,message=unexpected element (uri:"", local:"invertYCoordinate"). Expected elements are <{}tileType>,<{}maxZoom>,<{}backgroundColor>,<{}tileUpdate>,<{}name>,<{}serverParts>,<{}minZoom>,<{}url>,<{}ignoreErrors>... (from log file).
Have you try with a xml file ?

OK, looks like the <invertYCoordinate> wasn't implemented for the standard custom XML map source.
I have added this for the next version. In the meantime please replace your version of Mobile_Atlas_Creator.jar with the linked on.
It contains the update for using invertYCoordinate in a standard custom XMl map source.

Yes, following the replacement Mobile_Atlas_Creator.jar, invertYCoordinate own resources in a standard XML maps from bartho1 now works correctly. Thanks mobrob. You bartho1 another through a mapping source.

Hi bartho1,
if the region does not perfectly match the have shifted the region (doable with a BeanShell/BSH custom map) or they use a different map projection and/or zoom level (incompatible with MOBAC).
In both cases you will not succeed with a custom XML map source. Please see readme that comes with MOBAC for details.

First of all, thanks to Mobrob for his well done job.
I have two questions about MOBAC. The first one: is it possible in the future, to create tracks (not only waypoints)?. In this case MOBAC would be perfect! No complementary apps would be required.
Is it possible to add a map source from an internal url like this:
http://ts3.iberpix.ign.es/tileserver/n=mapa_mtn50;z=30;r=16000;i=88;j=1034.jpg HTTP/1.1
(mtn50 is the zoom scale 1:50000, z= UTM sector , r=radius from centre of map, i=x , j=y )
The last question. If a internal url parameters ending in ".img" format image. Is possible change it to a compatible format for MOBAC?.
Thanks.

Development of MOBAC is more or less finished from my point of view. But MOBAC is open source - if somebody with Java skills would implement it I would not say no...
The small string "UTM" is an indicator that this map is incompatible. UTL refers to the map projection "Universal Traverse Mercator" whereas MOBAC requires plain Mercator projection. That is a big difference.

The file extension does not matter, nor the used mime type sent by the server. MOBAC uses the image data to detect the file type. Therefore you can open the image with an image editor/viewer of your choice that displays you the real image format type.

Thank you for all the effort you have put into this tool. It has made the use of TrekBuddy and other applications much easier.
Best Regards,
Tom
