Works Great with my new symbian phone
Nokia X6 16GB Plentiful space for OS Maps
Very similar to the 5800xm just better camera and glass screen
I had to install the 0.9.99 version because earlier versions wouldnt give me the option for the permissions EG: always allow, Dont allow, wouldnt show ask first etc
Ill try the Backlight Control Just Now, I thinks i gonna need the TB service though
ooh interesting when i hit 3 for backlight i get
Service not accessible. java.lang. SecurityException Permission = javax. microedition.io
hmmm I will now install TB service and see what i gets and come back and report here
EDIT, cannot get tbservice to install, constrained by certificate with the latest version, and with the one i use for my 5800 i get certificate error too
I'll call Billy06 hehehe
durrrr symbian signed ........... sorted cheers billy06 how could i have forgotten? " misunderstood, thought my 5800 would work NOT!! diff imei
well well well, same error message after installing tb service, tried both mem and phone mem install
ahh billy06 to rescue again "allow to go online" thats done it yayyy
Thanks Kruch, for all your work and especially the speedy updates

Hi Kruch:
I use TrekBuddy long time in a Sony C702 cell very good. Recently buy a nokia 5800 where I installed TrekBuddy ver 0999 which has not run good. It takes about a minute to open and the phone is very very slow. And I need to press many times the icon TrekBuddy to activate.
How I can fix this?. The firmware version of the Nokia is the latest 50.01.2005.
Nokia comes with built-in java?
Thanks,
RSG.

I use the program Mobile Atlas Creator to make maps (tared atlas) and the problem has been solved.
Everything works ok.
Thanks.
RSG.

I installed this new version.
But now my sailing CMS profiles doesn't work well.
Some informations (as ETA, speed vmg, ...) are not available.
Is there any change in the variables names?
Thanks for this great software!

It would be nice to add “MIDlet-Touch-Support: True” for Samsung touch screen support (no virtual keys) in the manifest.mf file.
On my S8000 handset dotted line in the Navigation -> Route Line setting doesn’t seem to work
Sometimes while I load tracks-gpx, Trekbuddy just shut down.
When I load way point (wpts) and set option “Navigate To” I see only a green arrow direction marker on the cross-hair pointer and it would be nice to see a dotted line from the pointer to the way point.
Besides Trekbuddy works pretty well on Jet. It works with 240x400 resolution (full screen must be ON) as Jet itself has 480x800. It would be nice to consider higher display res. in the future

Hi :-)
I would really like to use Trekbuddy, but I can't get my Samsung S5230 connected to my GPS. In another thread I read, that this problem had been fixed with version 0.9.98. But... well... my Samsung doesn't seem to care about this information.
Could someone help me? Please!! :-)
Thank you so much,
Birte

Make sure to turn on AGPS in your handset and mark "assisted GPS" option in Trekbuddy "Location" settings. It should help.
You need S5230 GPS version of course to make it work.

Posted: Thu Jul 08, 2010 12:41 am Post subject: How to correct the actual position in a map |
|
|
Now I am living in China Jiangsu province, Jiangyin city.
I am using in BB curve 8900 os 5.0 with map from Google (it is the best of avilable map as I was tried)
The actual position receiving from GPS sat. doesn't correct the position.
It is about horizontal 1000 m. less than the real position and about vertical 500 m. less than the real position.
How I can corrective the actual position?
Best regards,
PPS

Can you give me a clue, why this is happening? Where to search for a mistake?
1. Wrong positioning in program MOBAC during creation of maps?
2. Mistake in programs on phone (but then why in all programs the situation is the same)?
|
None of all that.
AFAIK the Chinese Government forced the map suppliers to insert a position offset in all digital maps available on the Chinese market, please see post #20 in http://forums.groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=201512&st=0&p=3600655&#
Currently the only unaltered map source for China seems to be OpenStreetMap.

Hope this helps

Thank you anty-gen!
But one more question, is this:
You need S5230 GPS version of course to make it work.
the trekbuddy version? Or a special firmware?

Your mobile phone version. S5230 Star has no GPS built in although on the Polish market it is called Samsung Avila and there is GPS version. So you need a phone with GPS built in or external Bluetooth GPS. In second case you need to set a proper option in Treckbuddy settings.

Updated to this version on Nokia 5230, but the "Keys" 7 and 9 for the Map Layers and Atlases do not work any more :-(
Cannot find editing this in the settings - any hints?
