I had continuous problems yesterday with the beacon turning blue and TrekBuddy giving up updating the map position, but the CMS showed lots of satellites with good signals and a 3D lock. The GPS was flashing its lock light as well.

Getting the green beacon back seemed to require turning off the gps and then letting it warm start again, then TrekBuddy would turn the beacon green.

I don't know whether this was TrekBuddy deciding that the gps had lost the signal, but not updating the info used by the cms, or whether the cms had the correct state and the beacon state was wrong. Or neither of these things.

On one of the occasions I had definately been under trees just before it happened, but on the others I was generally in the middle of fields.

Could it be that something somewhere isn't noticing the satellites come back after they've been lost briefly?

TrekBuddy 0.9.78

Thanks,

I am also having similar problems for quite a long time.

Last weekend I was on longer trip (~20km) and this happened twice during that, in both cases when I made longer stop. TB reported java.io.interruptedIOException in info. Gps still had lock and I could switch between map and CMS. Stopping and starting connection always helped.

This can be a problem related to phone-gps bluetooth connection lost. If this is the case I would be happy if there exists some workaround or hack as I have to check phone often to see if tracklog still works.

Otherwise, TB is great application for hiking.
