Talk:Tutorial: Garmin maps to Trekbuddy
From TrekBuddy Wiki
- This tutorial is still a work in progress.
- I think it would be best to make a separate HOWTO/Tutorial/Instruction about uploading/installing/choosing Atlases. If someone else wants to do this, please be my guest, if not I'll probably write one during the weekend.
The configuration of the wiki does not allow me the upload Flash (*.swf) content, so I hosted them on my own site. If swf uploading would be allowed, I think I could better integrate the flash part into the rest of the tutorial. It might also inspire others to create flash tutorials.
Sorry but I'm not sure that flash tutorials are a good solution. I think we should stick to text/image tutorials which can be printed, edited by anyone, translated and viewed without any plug-ins on almost every platforms. However, flash animations could be used as complement to an existing tutorial. --Lostcontrol 11:16, 28 June 2007 (CEST)
You're probably right, text/images are easier to edit by the community. It's just I, personally, am better at explaining a computer program to people by showing it to them, instead of trying to describe what to do in words. Especially in this case where we are talking about graphic editing and converting. --Escabe 15:58, 28 June 2007 (CEST)
This tutorial seems like such a great idea... why do the links NOT work?!?!
