|
|
UPDATED 19.08.2008 display error on GEO-panel
UPDATED 28.03.2008 changed wrong font size in XML for panel4
UPDATED 27.03.2008 the decimal part of the values are now with smaller digits
UPDATED 25.03.2008 values are now displayed with units
UPDATED 24.03.2008 GEO-Panel...
UPDATED to version 0.9.76
With the new 0.9.76 version of TrekBuddy there are many new CMS variables available:
+ new variables for the satellite numbers
+ variables for precision of the sat signal pdop, hdop, vdop
+ variable for "satellites in view"
+ splitted variables for course and wpt-course in lat and lon part
+ timer variable which just counts from 0 ... 9
+ fast switching with LEFT/RIGHT keys
I did some redesign and added a new panel the "SAT-Panel".
With this panel all sat related informations are shown.
Right now the CMS has 5 panels:
0: panel which contains all kind of informations
1: SPD - Speed-Panel
2: NAV - Navigation-Panel
3: GEO - Geocaching-Panel
4: SAT - Satellite-Panel
Well, panel number 5 is already done but still not ready for public
Now there are some small animations in the panels using the {timer} variable.
With TB version 0.9.76 fast switching between the different CMS panels (tabs)
is now possible (LEFT/RIGHT key) and works really great!
Feel free to download and use it!!
!! Thanx Kruch for your overwhelming effort and this great software !!

All the artwork is done pixel by pixel and it's already difficult to fit all the information on 240x320. So it's impossible to do this with smaller display sizes. Sorry
But I think your next phone won't have a display smaller than 240x320

I've created a page in the wiki for CMS, as I couldn't find any, and it is a GREAT feature of TB that many people overlook.
MaleSmurf, used your image to show what it is all about, hope that is OK ... see the page in the Wiki.

@yip
Of course it's ok. All my (art)work here is for public
By the way, I already finished a new Panel-CMS (right now 5 panels) with some new visual elements. But it will still take some time to put it online

Hehe....
But this panel looks quite different with TB in day/night view.
Backgrund panel should be in black/white (2 color) png.
By the way, I'll soon upload my new animated 5-Panel CMS

Do you know what they actually mean?

With the pdop, hdop, vdop and satv you have not only the signal strength but also the preceision of the messurement and the number of the satellites in view (not all are used for tracking)...
Wikipedia discribes it there: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dilution_of_precision
Thus a low DOP value represents a better GPS positional accuracy due to the wider angular separation between the satellites used to calculate a GPS unit's position (Horizontal, Vertical, Position (3-D) and Time Dilution of Precision).
1 Ideal This is the highest possible confidence level to be used for applications demanding the highest possible precision at all times
2-3 Excellent At this confidence level, positional measurements are considered accurate enough to meet all but the most sensitive applications
4-6 Good Represents a level that marks the minimum appropriate for making business decisions. Positional measurements could be used to make reliable in-route navigation suggestions to the user
7-8 Moderate Positional measurements could be used for calculations, but the fix quality could still be improved. A more open view of the sky is recommended
9-20 Fair Represents a low confidence level. Positional measurements should be discarded or used only to indicate a very rough estimate of the current location
21-50 Poor At this level, measurements are inaccurate by as much as half a football field[citation needed] and should be discarded
