Hello,

I come back with an old request about brightness/night mode for map screen ...
Currently there's different ways to adapt brightness or select day/night mode for the different screens (map, compass, CMS) ... it's OK ! Smile

But for me, there's always a small problem when switching quickly the different screens in the night.
There's always too big brightness difference between map mode and Compass/CMS mode witch have possibility day/night mode.

Seems difficult to find solution like negative colors because result is not always good for all kinds of maps.

Maybe, at least, is it possible to have in settings, an option "Night mode for Map screen"/"yes/no" for force lowest brightness level for map screen only when Night mode is active in other screens, (for example 10%)
So it should be good to make brightness more uniform and prevent "flash" effects for eyes when Trekbuddy is running in the night ...

I dont know if it's possible to do something like that and all other ideas are wellcome ! Smile

Maybe other idea to get this feature ... Wink

Is it possible (when night mode is active in compass screen and CMS screen) to draw automaticaly an alpha layer as overlay on map screen ?

Transparency and color could be selected in settings ... Smile

I come back ...

I made some test with alternative idea ...

I've built a big crosshair (801 x3) for my phone (480X800) with 50% black transparancy covering all the third part of the crosshairs png picture !
It seems working OK (...maybe not the best way because oom risk ...) but it should be better to have a new special feature to display the map in night mode (synchronized with compass and CMS mode)

Thanks to have a look (if you have some time) ... Confused

My idea of night mode map was to use negative + 180° hue shift. More in this topic

Your map would look like this:

Result with negative colors is not good with all sort of maps ... and it's possible to built negative colors tared maps with app Greg's map processor if needed ! Wink
I would prefer apply lower brightness or alpha color layer for map screen when night mode is active in compass and CMS screens. Smile More useful for me in most of cases.
