Hello,

On my android phone (xCover2 S7710), with TB (compass mode) there is no problem to display the good magnetic north in vertical mode.
But when i use my phone in landscape mode, the magnetic needle (yellow) dont follow the rotate function of the phone, so it's wrong ! Sad (No problem for GPS needle)
Is this problem only for me, or is it an android sensor limitation, or something other ?
Is it possible to do anything for that ?
(tested on galaxy trend and same problem ...)

Thanks

Hello,

Don't tell me no-one have an answer ! Rolling Eyes

I've tested different magnetic compass apps and not all of them support rotate function ... Is it the same for yellow needle in TB compass mode ?
Is there something i don't understand ?

Sure, i think Kruch have answer (when he come back here ...)

Regards

Thanks Ranger Smile
Tested on 2 different model galaxy xcover2 and trend and on xperia of a friend and same problem ...
If phone is locked in portrait mode the magnetic needle is OK (but not good for switch to map and cms in landscape mode))
Problem is when using automatic rotation of the phones.
No problem for you ?

The problem comes from stupid values got in some models, so it is not easy to correct them for ones, but not for others Wink

It may be a bug in J2ME-Android API bridge.

If you turn on trail line with line thickness > 1, and do a short trek, is trail line ok or not rotated too?

Trail line ? Where ? On compass screen ? Smile
The problem is only with yellow (magnetic) needle on compass screen.
It is shown well in portrait mode, but jumps to +90 degree when phone is rotated to landscape. Red needle and trail dots looks well for me.

Maybe it's possible, while fixing this bug, to add a command for show/hide the magnetic needle ? Smile

Indeed probably a TB bug. Android API says "Azimuth, angle between the magnetic north direction and the y-axis". I think I am not taking into account that in landscape y-axis is different...
