Finally got it working. (Had a silly mistake in one of my files and it took a while to find it)

Working really well, except with some images of mine. Looks like it could have something to do with the png format. Does this method handle PNG8 (with alpha) correctly? (Could be my images are strange. Will do some more testing.)
In some cases I want these images to follow the day /night colour settings of the CMS.

Exactly what I wanted. Very Happy MUCH appreciated!

This feature really saves a LOT of time creating arrow / dial type displays and the resolution now is fantastic (5 degree steps were the practical limit for me and it required hours of work to prepare...)

To use day / night colours, I convert the images to PNG8 with alpha.
To keep the original image colours, I use normal 32 bit PNG images.

After playing around with this, I realise that it would be very useful (and even necessary) to be able to switch the display of the arrow / dial on or off. Hope that would be easy to add.

Edit: perhaps if I set the value equal to "space" it would be like switching it off... Will test.

Edit2: Yes this works. Smile

boowoo discovered regression bug (http://www.trekbuddy.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8147), backward compatiblity for existing CMS have been broken.

I think I will have to revert some changes. Most likely extra element <images> will be removed, and value of image attribute in area will be filename, again, because that is how slider images are already using image attribute, I forgot about that and misunderstood my own code Evil or Very Mad
TB can automagically decide if refered image is sliding or rotating by checking its dimensions.

1.32 with the fix coming tonight.

@boowoo sliders should work as before

@JNT no more <images> element, just area attribute image with image filename (including extension eg. "arrow.png")

Please test day/night color as well. Thanks.
