For some time (i.e. since zoom function arrived) I have tb-crashes on my Android phone (2.1). It seems to happen after some time: if you load a gpx track, choose routeforward or showall. Having internal GPS on and tracking started following things happen: After zooming and unzooming the loaded gpx-line is not diplayed anymore (but 'stop' is still offered in navigation, problem doesn't happen everytime...). After some time especially when scrolling or tipping at the center of the screnn tb freezes or crashes (2x-3x a day even if you handle tb most carefully....). Crashs could also be related to CMS - these sometimes show after a rather big delay (i.e. seconds)

...nevertheless tb works great ....and having a good editor concatenating of crashed gpx files isn't really a problem...

hoping this hints help making tb even better!

PS: TB is the non-internet-version; 1.2.4 seems to be more stable, but problems persisted

TB crash is probably recorded in device log, which you can access using alogcat application, for example. There should be some error message with stracktrace, that would help a lot.

ad asc-t/desc-t: they are cumulative values for altitude changes, and because GPS altitude value is rather unreliable, unprecise and fluctuating a lot, there is a threshold of 30m for an altitude change to be acknowledged and added to asc-t/desc-t.
The threshold is fixed and does not take reported vertical precision into account.

thanks for the answer
Isn't 30m too much for this purpose?

The new Symbian helper 0.9 doesn't work with Nokia E61 (S60 v3). It refuses to start – even manually.

Sorry, I forgot! Latest helper uses OpenC API (aka PIPS) to overcome 2GB limit. OpenC APIs are bundled in S60 3rd FP2+. For older devices, you may need to install the plugin yourself.

I've uploaded latest PIPS sis to TB helper page: http://www.trekbuddy.net/symbian/0.9.0/pips_s60_1_7_SS.sis

That Nokia site requires a login I don't have - do you also have a direct link to the file somewhere? All websearches seem to redirect to the Nokia website.

My Nokia 5230 does not make it install it, because it does not have a certificate. Although I do not want it in the settings, so you can not. So with him trying to get otherwise.

I have the PIPS installer, but not the OpenC plugin.

@johanw PIPS (info) is the core Symbian package component from OpenC that TBsvc 0.9 needs.
OpenC plugin won't even install on PC without a S60 dev toolkit already installed and most user do not have that that's why I've uploaded only the SIS that TB needs. I do not have pre-S60 3rf FP2 phone so cannot test myself, but you should only need to install PIPS on the phone to use TBsvc 0.9.
