Changelog
    - fixed CMS vars based on short-term avg spd
    - fixed first wpt not accessible after reload
    - improved GPX filter (less points, better track following, less crazy jumps)
    - stability and compatiblity fixes in Android version
    - fixed number of sats on BB
    - tar-ed map loading fixes (+ few performance optimizations in Symbian service, now v0.8 )
    - no-map feature

no map
For usecases when map is not needed, no-map can be used. Try Load Atlas
and select no-map.xml (should be created when TB starts). This virtual atlas
"covers" large area, its center is current location (so choose it carefully). As of now,
the only available customization is changing background color (just look inside the file).

I removed support for obsolete map format (J2N), it has been dead for a long time. Also intend to remove bluetooth
device discovery and just support paired devices only (if nobody protests) in the future - let the phone's firmware do the
hard part.

Please forgive my ignorance. I currently have two external GPS devices paired to my phone. Does this mean that when I have multiple bluetooth GPS devices paired to the phone that TB will automatically find and connect to whichever device is functioning after I choose the "Start Keychain" menu option.
Thanks

Sorry I was not so much clear about it.

When you select "Start" command, TB will not search for BT devices (because it is slow, unrealiable or simply just buggy on some phones), but will just list devices you have paired with your phone for you to select one to connect to. That's it, no big deal. (BTW this is how it already works in Android version of TB)

"Start <last used BT GPS name>" command will work as it does now.

Great, I like that. Would be very easy to switch to backup while hiking..

You forgot to tell us that the icon size has changed to a much bigger one which is fine on my BB9700 Smile

Nice to see that development continues!

Thanks
Stefan

I have a suspicion the new trekbuddy-service v0.8 with TB 1.0.19
triggers more often problems with non-zero traffic on GRPS connection on Nokia E52, compared to older versions TB 1.0.18 / service 0.6x.

E.g. my operator vodafone charged my for 24h !internet for a day"
by arriving SMS, while no other application was running, and there was about 1 kB transferred. Note that aGPS was OFF.

I will test it more times and check the connection counter.

Edit: tried once more, and after starting GPS with service without aGPS,
with no other apps running, GPRS counter shwn me GPSR 52/40 bytes, and a while after 104/80 bytes.

TB 1.0.18 with older service usually, maybe mostly always, stayed at 0/0 , even if I had sometimes suspicion it is nonzero.

This can be show stopper at roaming abroad scenarios.

Hi Kruch,

Thanks a lot for your continuous effort to improve TrekBuddy!

- no-map feature

First attempt to satisfy this wish is now in 1.0.19.

I'm very happy to see it implemented now, it works quite well.

Will it be possible to add a few more zoom levels,
eg ranging from 1 m/px to 10000 m/px?

Thanks again - Jakob.

It's nice feature - thank You.
Additional zoom levels... sounds great, esp. 1-4 m/px.

This is driving me crazy. I have no idea how to prevent it. Morerover, does not happen with my N6720c (same OS version as E52) :O
I tried to rewrite the communication channel to named pipes, but it does not work from midlet side. I made no change in socket handling in the service, I basically just do something more lazily to reduce response latency.
And there was a only cosmetic change on the midlet side.
So, WTF?!?

Could you please try v0.6 service? It is compatible.

Hi Kruch, I have got a bad piece of news for you Sad Something has gone wrong in 1.0.19 for my HW (it is a classical "stupid" java phone - see my signature below). Opening any GPX with waypoints lasts terribly long and makes TB 1.0.19 virtually unusable Exclamation It seems the more wpts the longer it takes. I have tried to measure:
1 wpt in GPX - about 10 s (!!), 2 wpts in GPX - about 10 s, 29 wpts - 62 s, 53 wpts - 152 s (!!!) Embarassed
Once the GPX has been finally opened the next short press of "1" opens the GPX immediatelly. (I guess the file is already in the memory of the phone.)
You don't seem to have spoilt any other function Shocked Very Happy the rest works the same (great !) way as it did in 1.0.18.
I must revert to 1.0.18 Sad

P.S. Should you involve in GPX loading I have one more wish. Could you possibly try to solve the little (and I guess trivial) annoying problem that persists from 1.0.18 ? Every second long press of "1" behaves like if it were a short one - TB opens the last GPX instead of letting me choose one. I have observed the behavior on my wife's SE C702 too. Numbers "7" and "9" behave alike - when I longpress "7" (when using an easy-zoom-ready atlas) for the first time, it lets me select a layer. I choose a layer and TB draws it. Then I longpress "7" again and TB zooms out instead of letting me choose a layer again. Then I longpress "7" again and it lets me finally choose etc. Thanx.

Hello. Taking pictures on 1.0.18 was working on my Nokia 6303 but on this new version it is not working anymore.
Picture is taken, stored in memory card like:
"g:\TrekBuddy\wpts\images-20120111-102702\!tmp!00000039000-9654.jpg " and then apprears error "Number Format java/lang/NumberFormatException 000-9654".
Then I am able only to press "Ukoncit".
My setting is like for JSR234: capture://image and resolution 2048 x 1536.

+1

(I thought I'd be able to use it to zoom in on dense POIs)

Info/Technical Memory: 32505344/5309608
Kolejny problem to odwrotne działanie EasyZoom. Do tej pory dotykając ekranu z prawej strony wybierałem warstwę z mapami bardziej szczegółowymi (mniejsza skala), teraz działa to odwrotnie.
Edit:
Skorzystanie z opcji "Lowmem I/O" rozwiązalo problem niewczytywanych kafli.
