lol asus transforme

Not meaning to hijack the thread but running TB on a tablet is good news..
This sounds like the ASUS TRANSFORMER, correct?
If so, have you attempted to run two applications of TB at the same time in a split screen mode? One showing CMS and the other showing your map screen
both with GPS tracking?
Thanks

I still experience a tiny bug. Even though the last position is now remembered on app exit, the last zoom level (atlas) is not. So When I reopen Trekbuddy, default zoom level map is used and the last position gets twisted.
Also the bug I uploaded image for in 1.0.16 thread is still there. When I zoom too fast by + - touchscreen keys I get a Java error. Confused

I love the new changes, Trekbuddy is much faster now and the revamped Android menu is great. Good job!

The Nokia N73 is very slow loading maps, but with the 1.0.17 or 1.0.18 Symbian version it´s excessively slow. It takes several minutes to load a tared map, and sometimes hang the device. TrekBuddyService 0.6.0 has been reinstalled and the external memory defragmented.

These same Maps and Altlas work fine with SE K750i or BB8100.

Ad slow map loading on Symbian: I screwed it a bit in 1018. If you feel like trying, this beta should be better:

OK.. It seems very fast. I will test it during the next seven days in Doñana National Park.

I just uploaded a devbuild where this wpt list issue should be fixed. Also tiles loading (for tar maps) may be slightly faster.

Minor case for icons bar in 2011-08-16 1.0.19 beta, on X8
Scenario
- start app with icons bar option turned on
- wait to bar is hidden
- touch left-bottom corner to display menu
- just wait a while with menu displayed (without any action), icons bar will pop-up itself for one second

I have been realizing tests with the Beta version for Symbian, and keep on having the following problems in my N73.

To realize my tests I have been using the following map... http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18139092/Do%C3%B1ana.rar, and can use this NMEA log to simulate it ... http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18139092/20110826-085120.rar

    - Default Map. Now it is more speed loading small maps, but it keeps on being very slow with bigger maps. Almost 4 minutes to show on screen the four necessary tiles (Doñana/Sigpac/Zoom 15).

    - If during the navigation I change the showed map (Key 7, Select Layer), it give me the following error: Invalid map: InvalidMapException [null]:Failed to load tile:java.lang

    - If the new tiles have not been loaded, it drags the tile for the screen.

    - Sometimes, when is loading new tiles, the functions that need to access to memory are blocked, Navigation menu for example. When all tiles are loaded, show the Navigation Menu.

    - Sometimes, the program closes suddenly.

I don´t know if its a fault in Symbian versión, only in the N73 model, or only in this device.

With my K750i, maps and NMEA log works fine...

Hi Kruch,

on my Archos with Android 1.6 (thx again for the backport version!) there is a bug with the display resolution.
It seems like the display is larger than Trekbuddy assumes, since the map doesn't use full screen height (in both, portrait and landcape mode). After the sliding menu slides out, it partly remains visible.
Maybe this is related to the patch you added for the Archos device's display resolution detection.
The two pictures show the display content.
Maybe you can fix this in an upcoming version.

Thanks!

damn it, I fixed the display resolution but forgot to remove Archos-specific hack :/
I assume it is 20 pixels missing.

Hi Kruch,

20 pixels seem to be a good guess!
Thanks for your fast response!

The best solution for my problems with the Symbian version ... don´t use big Atlas in .TAR format .... and change the properties of the graphic files (.PNG or .JPG) to hidden.
