Changelog
    - added menu bar for touchscreen phones with configurable appearance (Settings->Desktop->show zoom controls, show menu bar), customizable icons (see wiki)
    - switched short- / long- key#1 press for easier access to active wpts list
    - CMS/HECL: fixed HECL memory leak, changed calculation for dist-t,spd-avg and pace, vmg, eta, new vars in HECL (topic), new math cmds (asin, acos, atan, atan2, pow, log)
    - Android: fixed screen resolution detection on tablets
    - Blackberry: media card encryption supported (gpx waypoints files)
    - fixed 1-tile scrolling (again)
    - fixed map switching in R->L and B->U directions
    - fixed image capture
    - other fixes (in file browser, map loading, ...)
1.0.17 download page

I was not able to implement resistance again Android OS killing TB when on background yet, but TB at least reduces its memory usage. Now, except bugfixes, would like to finally implement 'no-map mode'.

2011-08-04: fixed NPE for internal GPS provider and missing images in Blackerry builds.

1.0.18 download page

This version does not include the "normal" way of working with GPXs in a subdirectory of "wpts" (we discussed) yet, does it ?

which setting should we use to give you the info you need https://market.android.com/details?id=org.jtb.alogcat&feature=search_result has level and format settings.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.eolwral.osmonitor&feature=related_apps has dmesg or logcat with filter options

on droid 2.3.3 i get no errors but the red direction arrow does not seam to show , this may be because the internal is not as sensitive as my BT gps(and the co ords do not change much on the display), its raining at the mo so will test outside in a while, while with my Bt gps connected the arrow flicks about and the co ords change often.
i have attached 2 logs , as mentioned earler let me know if they provide what you need.

And it is new behaviour with 1.0.17?

Anyway, I found one place where the problem could arise (although it never should I thought... and still think), you can try http://www.trekbuddy.net/releases/1.0.18/index.html
