|
|
Hi,
it would be great to have GPS position tolerance (available in compass as +/- value in meters) as a CMS variable available for CMS development. I found this value very useful for tacking, but I did not find a way how to get it in CMS.
Thanks for enhancement or for any hint on this.
BR, Petr

Unfortunately this HECL variable (like some others) just returns 0. The good news though, is that it is on the list to be fixed

I am afraid precision calculations based on xDOP parameters reflects just fixed average estimated error for HDOP=1 (5-6m), multiplied by satellite placement geometry factor given by HDOP.
It does not cover variability of major error in single satellite distance determination (typically 2-7 m), caused by current ionospheric signal delays.
This is eliminated together with other errors by differencial GPS,
going to near 1 cm precision, but it is out of forum scope.

Hmm, seems that you are right. Anyway funny is that sometimes I get precision less than 5 this meas hdop < 1 So I hope the CMS variables will start to work so I can use at least this simple way

Hi,
How do you know that bug is on the list to be fixed?
In the next version?

I look on the: "Project tracker" page in the "Backlog" tab. Link is at the top of the page.
Unfortunately not the next version, but at least it is on the list...
Perhaps if it is important for more people, it will be moved up.
