Hi, I think there is important feature missing for easyzoom!
User toma.baza here http://www.trekbuddy.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5650&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=easyzoom&start=15 I think mention same thing also. If you have atlas structure like this:

MyAtlas
-- 1km
---- Cycle
---- Google
---- Foto
-- 2km
---- Cycle
---- Google
---- Foto
-- 4km
---- Cycle
---- Google
---- Foto

If you change from one layer to other with easyzoom, trekbuddy doesn’t remember on which map it was and choose new map randomly(?), eg. if we zoom out we have map change
2km/Foto --> 4km/Cycle
and NOT
2km/Foto --> 4km/Foto
Would be great if trekbuddy remebers maps during easyzoom! For maps similarity 3 first letters of maps name could be compared.

Kruch, i wrote small name comparison function for you in Java. It's more sophisticated than 3 letters comparison. I hope it will help you! Smile

Arrow Example of use
Code:

String old_map = "google 13";
Vector<String> newFolderMaps = new Vector<String>();
newFolderMaps.add("foto");
newFolderMaps.add("goog");
newFolderMaps.add("googleAerial");
newFolderMaps.add("google 11");
newFolderMaps.add("Cycle");

String similarMap = FindSimilarMap(newFolderMaps, old_map);

System.out.println( "SimilarMap:" );
if( similarMap.equals("") )
  System.out.println( "not found" );
else
  System.out.println(similarMap);

// returns "google 11"

Arrow Function
Code:

import java.util.Vector;

// returns "" if similar map name haven't been found
// similar maps should have identical few first chars, 4 and more is ok
// name isn't similar if it differs with length more than 30% or more than 3 chars

public static String FindSimilarMap(Vector<String> in_maps, String in_toBeFound) {
  int i;
  int originalToBeFoundLength = in_toBeFound.length();
  int maxCharsLengthDifference = Math.min(3, (int)(0.3 * in_toBeFound.length()));

  if(in_maps.size() == 0)
    return "";

  // trim all the names just to be safe
  in_toBeFound.trim();
  for( i=0; i < in_maps.size(); i++ )
    in_maps.get(i).trim();

  // compare
  while( in_toBeFound.length() > 0 )
  {
    for( i=0; i < in_maps.size(); i++ ) {
      if( Math.abs(in_maps.get(i).length() - originalToBeFoundLength) <= maxCharsLengthDifference )
        if( in_toBeFound.length() <= in_maps.get(i).length() )
          if( in_toBeFound.equals( in_maps.get(i).substring(0, in_toBeFound.length()) ) )
            return in_maps.get(i); // found similar map!
    }

    in_toBeFound = in_toBeFound.substring(0, in_toBeFound.length() - 1);
  }

  // we didnt found any map...
  return "";
}

[quote="geskom"]
Seems to be not TB general issue. I have the similar directory structure as you and I have never experienced the issue with easy zoom. It works just perfectly for me. (SE C510)
My atlas structure:
Atlas SR
|--1_roadmap
|--2_zoom25
|--3_zoom50
|--4_zoom100
Roadmap layer has just one map, every other layers have several maps inside (not tarred due to some troubles on other mobile, I didn't want to make the atlas twice Shocked )

Hi ppl. I have a problem yet. I'm using TB on a S60 device where the Symbian service is installed too.
I want to track a hike from me, but i cant switch off the display. I can change between backlight on or off, but in both cases the display itself is activated all the time.

Has anyone an idea how to disable the display?
I want only to track the route nothing else.
I tried to uninstall the service too, but that dosnt help. The display is still on. Pressing the "button" in the to right corner only changes between backlight on or off too. But the display is still on all the time.

Greetings

first off, the link to "installation" in the first post of this thread is not correct - it probably is ment to be http://www.trekbuddy.net/wiki/index.php/Installation

now i'm still very lost on how to install... Sad

the downloadpage sais "alx+cod use DM to install" - what is that alx+cod supposed to mean? i do see that behind that, there is the link to the program files, but what do those abbreviations mean?

then i figured out that "DM" probably means the desktop software from blackberry? it's just that that software does not give me any possibility to install applications on my unit. Under "applications" i can import "application loader files" but the files that are to be downloaded appearantly are not of that filetype.

SO somewhere else i found the hint to just copy all files on the BB on a suitable place (i guessed "documents" on the memory card would be) and then browse on the BB unit to the "jad" file. I did so, it then get messages
- set security parameters (not wordly - i have a dutch operating system!)
- downloading trackbuddy
- downloading failed

and there i am lost.....

ah ok, got one step further...

i tried "install through air" : i used the browser on my BB (model 9780) and went to the downloadpage (http://www.trekbuddy.net/releases/1.0.11/index.html) and there i clicked on the JAD of OS5 - and there it went.

Trackbuddy installed itself in a bit awkward place (in the map applications) but ok. So now i made this step, i need to find out how it works, how to load maps etc etc.

not the most straightforward program but i'll chew on it for a little longer...

Use this to create your maps.
http://mobac.sourceforge.net/

Here is a tutorial
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4exhu4EThE

when your maps/atlases are created copy them from your PC to the Map folder, which is within your Trekbuddy folder, obviously your phone will need to be connected to your PC. When the maps have been copied over, disconnect the phone from the PC, start Trekbuddy and from the menu, select load Atlas.

Hey, is the Trekbuddy project still alive? It's been a really looooong time since the last update... Hope there is still Kruch somewhere out there thinking about us, Trekbuddy users. Wouldn't mind if the app was paid (android market). Just keep it updated. Pretty, pretty please... Wink

How often has application be updated to be considered alive ?
It is not antivirus software.

Updated to what ? Smile
Why you wouldn't update it yourself ? For example, new app customization can be done as often as you wish Wink

Kruck last commented on the forum about 4 weeks ago.

I'm sure his life doesn't just revolve around TrekBuddy.

Hopefully he's having a great holiday somewhere and enjoying himself Very Happy

He deserves some well deserved r&r for all the hard work that he gives away for free!

I'm well aware of the fact that it is not an antivirus, but frankly speeking it needs some polishing. Touch screen control is quite bad and Trekbuddy doesn't factor in higher pixel density displays. What looked fine on my old Nokia, is no longer legible on My HTC Desire.
