Hi:

Sorry, my English is very bad, I am using an automatic translator.

Corruption of firmware in K750i. I know that it sound very strange, but it happens to me frequently. I think that it is a failure of my terminal, and not of TrekBuddy, but I am not sure.

Also it has happened to me with other applications in Java, like GPS Track.

I´m using an Atlas of 30MB, generated by…

Code:
java -jar GoogleHackPureJava.jar 1792  -3.961 40.598 -3.412 40.267 5 madrid

java -jar GoogleHackPureJava.jar 1792  -3.961 40.598 -3.412 40.267 3 madrid

Has many subdirectories and archives, in size 256x256.

When I open the atlas, and I cross it with the cursors, sometimes the operation slows down, arriving to remain hung.

Later bluetooth does not work, and only I can leave the application with back key.

The solution that I have found is to update firmware of the terminal, thing that I must do almost every day.

Hi x2fer,

Sorry, I don't speak Spanish Embarassed

First, I can say that TB works stable in SE k750i.

To answer your questions a lot of information is needed.
Did you have problems with java no-GPS applications in your phone or GPS only ?
Where you installed your map ? In phone memory or memory stick ?
Was the firmware of your phone modified by someone ?
Which version of TB you are using ?
And GPS device is ... ?

The problems begin with applications that use GPS. Later they fail all the applications in Java. The phone works well.

Now, in memory stick, but other applications do not use maps in memory, although they store data.

No, it´s the official firmware downloaled from Sony Ericsson Update Service.

Seems indeed bad.
Especially java apps problem isn't logical at all.
So it can suggest phone hardware problem, incompatible firmware flashed etc.
But, did you removed TB before installing new version ?
Are map tiles 8 bit color ?

One week, and continues working fine. Very Happy

Only a question... when I have Bluetooth disabled on the telephone, and attempt to connect with the GPS, happens one of these two things alternatively:

- TB is looped, sounding intermittently, until pressing “STOP”.
- TB is looped, sounding intermittently, until pressing “STOP” and show the following message:

Code:
_EVENT FAILURE_ (code 9; result '0';throwable null):
java.lang.NullPointerException

Finally, A few months later, I have decided to take the phone to the SE Technical Service (The Phonehouse), and after doubting what it was telling them, which was remaining hung after Java executed any application, they have agreed to update me the firmware of the phone. Confused

The firmware update file of the Technical Service is not equal to the file download from the web page of, since this one preserves the applications and games originals. Shocked The versions of firmware are the same. Rolling Eyes

I have tested TB in the shop with a NMEA log, and it has worked correctly. Smile

Later I have connected it in house to the GPS antenna, and it has worked fine, but now. it has hung again Sad.

When execute any Java application, after show the Java´s logotype, puts the screen of white color, and remains hanging. Crying or Very sad

Now, I will have to take it again to the technical service, and the repair (if it is that they repair it), it will last more than one month. Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

I have taken the phone to other SE Official Technical Service again, the second time in three days, and the phone is hanging again.

They have limited themselves to updating the firmware. They have not believed what I have told them, in writing.

Really this only does happen to me? Sad

All you say suggest that phone is damaged, sorry.
I don't understand for what phone is so many times reflashed.
In service, they can read firmware and compare with flashed one.
If content is different, flash memory is bad.
You can do simple think. Just prepare TB with some maps on memeory card, go to service and ask for another phone for repair time. Check whats going on with new one.

x2fer, do you have free memory on phone and not only free memory on the memory card? I experienced strange effects with exactly 0 kB free phone memory.

The memory card has more than 30MB free.

The last phone for repair time was a... Philips Fisio 120 Shocked ... without BT, camara, memory card, etc....

I have Treckbuddy in the memory card ready to install ... but when they update the firmware, it works fine for some 4 hours, before be hanging.

Read firmware and compare with flashed looks like the best option. This evening again to the Technical Service. Confused

I am sure that the phone is defective ... it is the technical Service the one that does not believe it

Does it also hang if you use Java but no bluetooth after firmware update?
