Hi,

at first relevant technical details:

Mobile Phone Nokia 6230 Model RH-12 Software Version V 04.44

Platform Series 40 2nd Edition
Screen Resolition 128 x 128 Pixel 65.536 Colors (16 bit)
Supports Connected Limited Device Configuration CLDC 1.1
Supports Mobile Information Device Profile MIDP 2.0
Supports JSR 82 Bluetooth API (No OBEX)
Supports JSR 120 Wireless Messaging API
Does not support FileConnection API (JSR-75/FileConnection)
More to find at http://www.forum.nokia.com/devices/6230

In some words:

Nokia 6230 is able to run TrekBuddy and connects to BlueTooth GPS receivers. It's poor on screen resolution and 6230 does not support custom maps. For a different than default world map it needs to be included as embedded map in the application and can not be changed. CMS themes cannot be loaded because of missing file connection support (JSR-75).

Installation of TrekBuddy 0.9.60 via PC Suite works smoothly.

I had the BlueTooth GPS mouse connected with permanent authentication before. Application TrekBuddy can opened and the world map appears. After GPS mouse had been started, pressing the menu buttom connection to GPS receiver can be started.

Remind, there are no alternative maps or atlas. No way points can be stored or loaded. Keys "1", "7", and "9" are useless. But you are able to send and receive SMS for Location Sharing available via key "1".

You are able to define or edit way points, but cannot be stored or used in navigation or tracking mode. I would to like to find at least one way point in RAM which can be user further without storing it on phone flash memory or memory card.

Sometime it seems to be difficult to close the TrekBuddy application. Sometimes the phone seems to reset, sometime it seem to stop responding to key strokes. Pressing phone's red bottom helped me in those hanging cases. But there was no harm to other stored data. I guess there are some open problems with the bluetooth connection.

Because of phones limited capabilities TrekBuddy is useful for navigation with well prepared embedded maps in limited areas only. As in version 0.9.60 no default CMS had been included TrekBuddy's application in conjunction with 6230 is very limited outside the embedded map.

Thanks for the report.

This will be possible in 0.9.61.

EDIT: The same way custom map may be embedded in the jar, waypoints file can be. On start, the app looks for either waypoints.gpx or waypoint.loc in resources folder in the jar.
