@starman316 v1.0.9 is almost finished, but v1.0.10 will focus on waypoints problems. I recall this issue, but I also recall I had no idea what to do about it then...

Small change in touchscreen handling proposal, comments appreciated:

Bottom-left corner press (equivalent to *) now opens the main menu, but it hides toggling function that key * has on standard devices (toggling between crosshair change <-> wpt name/cmt change via key 0). How about opening the main menu by long-press of key 0 (ie. bottom-middle area on touchscreens)?

Thanks Kruch. Always looking forward to your releases.

I used the same .gpx last week and it loaded fine, i have tried a task killer to free memory but still having no luck!

I cant remember if i updated from 1.0.7 from the market place, I will later reinstall 1.0.7 and see if this error comes up again

i have added an attachment, containing .gpx that now wont load, also software info of my htc desire, and the error message that tb produces on loading .gpx

thanks again kruch

Thanks, that's convenient for me Cool

Stack overflow is not a problem of 'usual' memory, but a thread stack size, which is typically several kilobytes in these small devices. It is weird that is seems to get depleted during parsing of just some GPX files. I remember I tried to change the size in the android build, but it did not seem to work. We'll see...

SPAM fast response Smile cheers

I have tried the usual check the lazy .gpx parsing but no difference. I have not added anymore apps or changed anything since the gpx loaded fine, although i may of updated from 1.0.7 to 1.0.8 as now my device is saying i have 1.0.8

i will now reinstall 1.0.7 and come back here and let you know if that gpx loads

also another issue but not too often is i get

trekbuddy has had to close - send report, do u get these reports when we click send report?
i can cope with this error case of just rebooting tb

cheers again kruch

And how about the short '0' press for wpt name/cmt change, long '0' press for crosshair change and keep short '*' press for Menu ?
(I'm not using the crosshair change at all. Let somebody who is using the croshair change tell if the '0' long press would obstruct him.)

Such change can touch Info keys meaning descriptions for all models.
Idea to change main menu to "0" longpress for touchscreen is a bit better, I think.

Changing the main menu key, is not very nice for users.
The main menu should be the stable element.

It should not change often. But
- there is a problem on touchscreen devices, because toggling function is unavailable
- it differs with handling on classic phones

Controlling TB - especially atlas handling (layers/maps selection, and from now 'zooming') - is a bit quirky on touchscreens, hitting proper area taks some time to learn.
I was testing 'quickzoom' yesterday, and I found myself often laying a finger down on the screen where virtual 7/9 keys are for some while without taking any action, thinking what to do, and because it (long press) now opens layer/map selection, I was annoyed by it quite often...

Yes, I know. Flying menu for navigation options, ie to Set Active on 5230 - isn't possible to hit Smile
But solution can be to select point and use Route along again.
My opinion means - if for touchscreen phones we will have too much differences comparing to other phones, we will have different version of TB indeed.
Lack of menu keys on some models doesn't make life easier in this case.
