I know that TB uses images as map and may be this feature will be difficult to implement anyway, any easy to use GPS navigation system have a feature to rotate maps (images in this case) so that the direction of movement is Up.
This will need also some smooth function in calculating direction since (but i'm not sure, i'm not such an heavy user of TB) TB write raw data from GPS and it seems not to apply any function to a set of positions; median of 3-5 positions (approx 1 every second and rolling) can be a starting point for a smooth function to determine direction and it will takes 6-10 seconds for first calculation and can update every second (but is better not to update so often, 4-6 seconds seems appropriate to me).
Smooth function can be used also for standard implementation of direction implementation and for tracklog (i found inaccurate positions due to specific reception problems sometimes, a smooth will fix such big positioning problems at a cost of some delay and a small byas).
Tanks for useful sw, best regards,
Daniele |
