on my htc desire it is hard to read street names on OSM maps because of the high display resolution. would it be possible to implement zooming of the map tiles?

this is great idea, my SGS is hard to read too, so Android version is useless for me (try to read satellite map without zooming on high display resolution, really pain in ass)

+1 for a smartphone map zoom. Layer 15 of google maps was legible on my S40 phone with some basic 320x200 resolution. On my new HTC the pixel density and resolution is much higher and layer 15 is no longer legible...
I would suggest an option for simply dubbling the pixels of a displayed map. I guess it wouldn't be hard to program and it would help a lot Exclamation

I think bitmap zoom is really important for GPS navigation program.
For the future will be realy needed to implement this function.
TB is wery good program but without this function it is backward of another programs.

Agreed.

The pixel density of my Nokia 5230 is such that a lot of the detail on OSGB maps is too small to read.

Please?

for a 800X480 Pixel I9000 Display some things are way to small in normal resolution. Zooming would be a nice feature

so: +1

I agree with this ! I also have big trouble with to small streetnames and map details....
It would be a great advantage to have such a pixelzoom.

I agree! It's good enough to follow a track, but i can't read any street names on my motorola defy. A 'digital zoom' would be great.
thanks Benuli

I agree to this topic. It's realy tiny and the download of higher resolutions is a pain too.

I agree to this topic too.

I had to change my device from Nokia E61 (320x240) to a Android ZTE Blade with 800x480 and I am hopeless lost with it. I can't read anything and there is no possibility to set the resolution lower. I am very unhappy that I can't use Trekbuddy any longer Crying or Very sad

Please add a zoom-option!

Hi Kruch!

A zooming feature for Android would be great especially with hires-Androids (ZTE Blade, 800x480). Having looked at Android-SDK21 it should be possible (Bitmap, setDensity; ImageView) to have Android do the scaling. Well without you and the sourcecode ...

... we simple grateful users can resort only to scaling the map-tar/tmi/map-files which isnt really elegant...
