Hi
It would be very helpfull to use the digital compass.
The HPS seems to show the digital compass. So the data must be there?
It would be nice
#1 some vars for the CMS / HCL scripts (digital_comp_valid and digital_course) so we can use it with the CMS.
#2 in HPS switch all the stuff that is bound to the movement to the digital. This might be a better thing than the "fast change" cyan needle. ^_^
Both the HPS / CMS screens would benefit much from this, especially for slow movement like approaching a geo cache ... _________________ There are 10 kinds of people: Those who understand binary and those who do not. |

Many devices have digital compass, but only in few it is accessible for java app
You can test it this way: don't start GPS, switch to compass screen and check if you see yellow needle and direction makes sense(! this is important because in my Vivaz I can see it but it definitely does not point to north ). And then check what Info->Technical->Orientation says... |

android 2.3.3 desire s shows the yellow needle which points north although no Orientation in info technical , im unsure if we should use it for low speed, the i-blue 737 mkt chipset gps device i use seams very good at low speeds, the internal gps on nokia 5800 is not(the 5800 does not have digital compass) next time im in the "field" i will test to see how much the digital compass is effected by the surroundings _________________ HTC Sensation, Nexus 7 3G, nokia 5800. web:www.thetrekbuddies.co.uk . Yes with Android there is no Orientation in Technical Info because we know for sure digital compass is there and works |
