Edit: Trekbuddy Atlas Creator has been renamed to "Mobile Atlas Creator" (MOBAC). Old releases of Trekbuddy Atlas Creator are no longer available.
Visit http://mobac.sf.net for the latest releases of Mobile Atlas Creator.

Hi mobrob,
Once again another little gem!
Any possibility of having an overview level for the Austrian Maps ?
Also could you look to see if it is possible to add Mapquest to the available sources. http://www.mapquest.com/maps
The images are certainly correct size but the URL for the tiles may not be compliant - http://tile22.mqcdn.com/map/Scale2500/62/599/69/93.gif
As I have not been able write a custom definition to download them:cry: .
Thanks.

Giving it a quick look I would say it is not possible at all to add this map source. The URL format isn't a big deal but it looks like this map doesn't uses the Mercator projection: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercator_projection#Uses
You can see the difference when zooming out. Take a look e.g. on Greenland and compare with the one visible on GoogleMaps - it's shape is totally different on MapQuest (compressed/stretched vertically).
Trekbuddy Atlas Creator can only process maps with Mercator projection therefore this map is not possible at all.
regarding the Austrian Maps: I don't know. I haven't written the AustrianMap provider. If it would have been possible I assume Guenther Hoelzl would have implemented it.

Hi mobrob, thank you very much for implementing GPX track loading/saving. It is really possible to load a GPX track!
But I found the trackpoints are not connected by a line. I would like to have tracks displayed as polyline, as usual. It would be very nice if the track polyline width and color could be adjusted. Please see the pictures in attachments: the 1st is from Google Earth and the 2nd is from TAC, both with the same track.
Now, when track loading/saving principially works, I would like to have a possibility to create new track by clicking trackpoints on the map. Please, do you plan to add such feature?

|
|
Hi mobrob,
I want to download maps behind a corporate firewall with a proxy. The proxy service works with user authentification.
I configured TBAC to use the standard Java proxy settings and let Java use the browser settings which worked for other programs. But it doesn't for TBAC. I only get connection errors (Timeout).
To get Internet access I have to set proxyHost and proxyPort within TBAC and start it with a command line like
| Code: |
| start javaw -jar TrekBuddy_Atlas_Creator.jar -Xms64M -Xmx512M -Dhttp.proxyUser=username -dhttp.proxyPassword=password |
Because I'm not sure where the connection problem comes from, my proposal would be to ad proxyUser and proxyPassword to the network configuration dialog within TBAC.
With many thanks for your great work
Heinz

hi, I´ve got a problem with very often clicking on alert messages.
Button "ignore in future" or "continue for all" is welcomed. By clicking this button, all next messages will be ignored. Is it possible to add this button?

@Heinz:
I checked the proxy authentication problem and it looks like Java is unable to retrieve the authentication settings from Windows. Therefore currently the only way to use a authenticated proxy is the way you presented.
@guest who provided no name:
Yes, it would be possible to add a "continue for all" button but I won't do it. Mostly because it would only help leechers like you cowardly hiding in anonymity and abusing TrekBuddy Atlas Creator to download hundreds of maps. We are all sharing the same (server) resources when using TAC therefore please download only those regions in high detail that you really need. Do not use TAC for mirroring large regions on all zoom levels!
@guest_private:
Google Hybrid is not possible - see faq for details:

Hi mobrob,
Would it not be possible for the Administrator to disable the posting rights for 'Guest' and require all contributors to be registered users?
These 'Anonymous Guests' really don't seem to under stand the concept of a discussion group.

Thanks for your great work
I've got one little feature request: map source of polish Emapa.pl. It's a basic map for whole europe and it's more detailed in Poland:
| Code: |
customMapSources>
<customMapSource>
<name>Emapa.pl</name>
<minZoom>0</minZoom>
<maxZoom>19</maxZoom>
<tileType>png</tileType>
<tileUpdate>None</tileUpdate>
<url>http://mapa.emapa.pl/mapsrc/img.aspx?&x={$x}&y={$y}&zoom={$z}</url>
</customMapSource>
</customMapSources> |
I would like to thank Velociraptor, who had made this code.

| Hai mobrob! Great job. My question. It would be technically possible route downloaded GPX entered when creating tar atlas into the bitmap so that the tar in the Atlas recorded? Sorry for the English translation. Thank you.

Hi mobrob. thank you very much for displaying tracks as polyline!
Loading GPX1.0 is very useful too, because OziExplorer saves GPX still in GPX1.0 format.
