Hi!

I have a Nokia 5800, witch everyone probable knows are a touchscreen phone. The only problem with using TrekBuddy on a touchscreen only phone is that you have to guess where the menu, zoom, backlight etc. keys are.

I have a small proposal on how we can enhance the usage of TrekBuddy on phones like this.

It also has a proposal on the map zoom, that also bugs me alot. To zoom in/out we now have to enter a menu and select a zoom level. Usually I just want to zoom in/out one level and thus a simple click should suffice.

So, what do you all think?

For all of you who think that something like this is a waste of space, that's why I added that as an option to the poll to see, I have another proposal.

If there was one single button somewhere on the screen to hide/show all the navigational tools, except zoom in/out and change to compass/cms that are small enough.

We could also make the buttons smaller than on the image and make them more transparent.

What I mainly wants with this proposal are to get some buttons in on the screen for zooming in and out Very Happy

For this proposal there is needed a special version of TrekBuddy, not compatible with other phones.

I think these are great ideas, especially zoom in/out buttons.

Also, I think TB already detects if it's running on touchscreendevices and acts accordingly. I've tried it on some 5800 xpressmusic (it think) and I discovered that you get a nice onscreen "buttons menu" when you tap lower left corner, which I've never before seen on my N73...

Cannot agree with this opinion, tb is capable to detect whether this phone has a touch screen

Or more generically (is that a word?):

An optional overlay for the map screen, similar to crosshairs.png etc. We could then customise it to our hearts' content!
