|
|
Trekbuddy works well on a LG GT505, using LG firmware. (Did not try with Orange firmware). However it is not full screen, bottom quarter of screen has navigation OK num etc.
GT505 trekbuddy works with 1.33GB tared map. It takes 30 seconds to go in but then works fine. It gives an error with a 2.5GB tared map.
We Travel do get full screen on the GT505 using
MIDlet-Touch-Support: True UserNativeTextButtons: false ReverseSoftkeys: true UseNativeCommands: false LGE-MIDlet-TargetLCD-Height: 400 LGE-MIDlet-TargetLCD-Width: 240
This does not seem to work for Trekbuddy. Any ideas? |

Attached file works. Modified .JAD file for LG GT505 version 0.9.9.1
Insert
MIDlet-Touch-Support: True
UserNativeTextButtons: false
ReverseSoftkeys: true
UseNativeCommands: false
LGE-MIDlet-TargetLCD-Height: 400
LGE-MIDlet-TargetLCD-Width: 240
after
MIDlet-Description: GPS Tracking and Navigation
MIDlet-Info-URL: http://www.trekbuddy.net
in jad file. |

|

To enable GPS on GT505 you need to dial test screen
3845#*505#
Note the last # seems to freeze screen for 2 seconds, wait.
Scroll down.
Then select GPS Test.
Select Get position.
leave where you can get a signal for couple of minutes to get a position, then exit with several presses of the red button.
Then run trekbuddy, and don't forget to start gps.
You need to redo this every so often, probably when battery goes flat.
NOTES: Install trekbuddy using modified jad file. blue dice, entertainment, mystuff, right tab, select jad file.
NOTES: its more reliable to copy files onto microSD using card reader, as phone seems to go to sleep during long writes. |
