Hello,

I am running TB on my PDA successfully, but when I try to load a waypointfile that is located in the WPTS-subfolder, I get an error-message, that there are no waypoints in file xxx.gpx. The gpx-file was created with an other GIS-program (xml-file). Does tb need a special fileformat or what I am doing wrong?

I read in in tb userguide, about an option called "capture locator" to display pictures to a recorded waypoint. I guess, it's only available on cellphones.
Is it (theoretically) possible to launch an external player (e.g. TCPMP) to play back sound, video or picture files when reaching a waypoint and the return to tb (saw this feature in another navigation program)? Is i possible to lauch an external programm out of a midlet?

regards
anax

Look at the xxx.gpx if it contains either any <wpt> or <rtept> (since 0.9.57) elements. If not, it is not a way/route point list.

Ability to capture and link a picture to a wpt should be available on every "java" that supports MMAPI w/ videocapture. If TB detects such capability, you should see "Snapshot Encoding" item in Info, and, of course, when saving a wpt, Take Snapshot button.

Since 0.9.57, TB plays a sound when you reach wpt.

Launching external program is very limited. With standard MIDP implementation, one can only launch a (web) browser I assume....

I think that problem is a bit different.
If java app is runing in my phone (k750i), I'm not able to make pictures without app exit. Even if TB is minimized to icon or no provider on.
Why not to have in navigation menu one option "capture" with current support. If provider is connected when picture is taken, recording picture position to wpts file can be automatic at all. This way every picture taken when navigating can be georeferenced. Maybe in next version ?

@Ranger: But applets can theirselves take pictures on K750i, i.e. http://sourceforge.net/projects/readbarj/
(however I did not get the software to successfully decode the barcode from the picture)

With signed applets it should also be possible to give Multimedia rights to the applet, so the phone does not ask each time if it's allowed to take a picture.

Misunderstanding.
Yes, applets can and TB does it well.
But just try to make picture with provider off, when you don't record wpts and you will understand. No way. Because you first should be in recording wpts menu where capture is available.
