Alright, i just downloaded the simulator with versions 4.2.1.90 and .68.
When used with the alx/cod files from your site - buth behave the same way - they do not display the applicaton.
But when i tried to install the BBTester.cod that i attached previously - they work.
Also when i coverted the jad/jar file to alx/cod file using the bat file i attached earlier - it again worked. So I am attaching both files now.
I guess also the solution from trispark would work, as the Destop manager successfully regonizes the simulator and wants to connect to it as soon as USB Cable is selected.
I do not really know what is the difference between the alx/cod that you created and the ones i try to upload actually...

With Media Manager (after update from 4.0 to 4.2) I can upload my application to the simulator. And indeed, JSR-75 support detection fails.

|
|
hi, I am very new to trekbuddy, and just installed it today on my BB 8800, when I tried to start a tracklog I get a FileIOException.
What is the correct path to use on the BB 8800, apparently file:///E:/trekbuddy/ is not working...
thx in advance!
Philipp

It doesn't start? I do not understand it... ok, during start, it looks for some files, but it's all happening inside try {} catch (Trowable t) {}.
What the hell is wrong with BB?!?
EDIT: Well, I use /app-param=JvmNoBreakOnThrowable simulator option, I'll try it without it...
EDIT: No I get FileIOException too

| OK, here's a build that runs on 8800 without any expection (except for NPE on exit). Can someone with the real device test it? Thanks.

Unpacked... jad+jar is ok, or alx+cod is better?

@astrograph - how are you installing it. There is a pretty good explanation in the beginning of the thread how to do it. It works.
@kruch - i have installed and tested the application. Now it loads offline maps, connects to the internal GPS and is working
Unfortunately i have the following problems:
1. When selecting Bluetooth GPS, there is some exception, that some views cannot be switched (I cannot remember exactly)
2. With the default map - when i start scrolling right, and seems like there is a problem with the refresh and the screen gets corrupted. Also with offline maps (300x400 pix), there are problems with loading them and refreshing the screen while moving.
I will give you some screenshots for the two problems later. In addition - the bad thing is that the second problem seems to work on the Simulator So i have no idea whether you would be able to fix it. But perhaps when i send you some screenshots - you will know what to do. Or i could run some version with more logging enabled, that could help you to understand.

| astrograph: go to options, adv. options, applications, trekbuddy. Press BB key, Edit permissions. Allow all and try again.

hi, thanks for the support, but I still get the error when I try to start a tracklog, I will upload two images showing the problem
* zulassen is the german word for allow
* Dateisystemfehler means file system error
