I have had a report that MRSIDDecode does not work with 64-bit Windows but the rest of the application, written in Visual Basic, should be OK, running in 32-bit mode.
Contact me if you have any problems and I'll try to fix them. |

I finally managed to get it running on my new Win7 64-bit machine by letting Windows decide the compatibility settings. javascript:emoticon(' ')
Will it ever become native 64-bit? |

Not soon!. The program is written in Visual Basic 6 and uses Freeimage which is 32-bit. And my own machine runs 32-bit XP. Maybe I could get a new machine, buy new development tools and, hopefully, recompile Freeimage as 64-bit - but I would find it difficult to justify, especially while the tool is free.
But if you want the source, no problem. |

| Without wanting to usurp MOBAC, is anyone interested in being able to convert scanned or OZI maps to Andnav and/or Maverick format? |

| The latest version of MAPC2MAPC will create atlas tile sets for Andnav and Maverick from an existing calibrated map (or one that you scan and calibrate). www.the-thorns.org.uk/mapping The map is reprojected to spherical Mercator as necessary. |

|
|
| I've been using this software to make some nautical maps for my phone. I'm liking it more and more as I discover the great features available. It really works great, but one thing I miss is the possibility to accurately "crop map and save"... It would be fantastic if one could choose (and move) the cropping corners with the same accuracy as choosing (and moving) calibration points (even using the same UI). |

| I will add that to my list of list of enhancements. You can zoom in to full resolution during the crop process since version 2.4.9 |

OMG!!! (She 's triumphantly...) After all the reading, asking & confusion, trying different progs like Ozi, it seemed like a difficult process to get straight jpg maps calibrated & suitable for TB, but how easy is that program??? Giving you virtual kisses for creating it!!!
I've only just discovered & installed the program, calibrated one map & put it on TB on my Blackberry, so bound to have questions soon, but THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! |

OK, now I've had a little play, my first questions are...
I first started with .map files I'd calibrated in Ozi, which had come up properly coloured(topo maps) and calibrated. Some of these worked in Mapc2mapc and I created TB tiles from them & loaded them on my phone no worries. Some of these however, came up in strange colours - one all orange, one brown. What's happening there?
Then I tried calibrating .gif or .bmp maps - didn't seem to worry this prog which. Again, some of them worked & I've created TB tiles from these also. But most of them I tried, after inputting the co-ordinates(from Google Earth), when I 'viewed calibrated map' showed skewed grids, to one degree or another, sometimes not even over whole map or including calibration points. What's happening there? I've double checked points, tried adding more or less points....?
TIA! |

| I'm sure I sent you a message yesterday! With regard to the odd colours I have found a situation where colours are displayed wrongly (but written correctly) when palette information is left over from one map to the next. If you restart the program for each map it will be OK. |

| I think we've resolved this now; I will tighten up the validation of coordinates. |
