Hallo Trekkys,
here my first CMS.
Its basically made for Hangglider Pilots.
It has at the Moment 5 Screens, i call them Views.
The Fonts are made from MaleSMurf, i hope it was allowed to use them ?
The User "gdpno69" has made a modified Version of this CMS
You ´find it on Page 3 of this Threat with Time stamp:
Mon 28 Sep, 2009 17:32:54
http://www.trekbuddy.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3177&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=38
Short Description.
Common in all views:
Top left is the Name of the View "Windview,Climbview,Perfview,Altiview and Targetview"
Top right is the GPS Stautus.
Next Line left Time, right Waypoint Name.
At the Bottom a Status Line.
The Vertical Speed is Calculated by Hand,to overcome the TB Bug with the Internal GPS.
Glideratio is shown if Vertical Speed is at least -0.3m/s
Description of each View:
Windview:
When you fly some smooth Circles the Script try to detect Windspeed and Direction.
In the upper Part you see Speed over Ground and Course,
in the lower Part Windspeed and Direction,when the Script has found it.
Otherwise -1.
Statusline shows how old is the Windcalculation.
Climbview:
SOG,
Distance to Waypoint,
AVG Vario over 5 Samples
Altitude.
Perfview (experimantely)
If the Script knows the Windspeed and Direction it trys to calculate
youre Speed through the Air.
Then it trys to Calculate youre Gliderade though the Air.
If Wind not known both -1
next Line again Avg vario then Altitude.
Altiview
shows different Altitudes,easy to understand.
Targetview
is made in Italy by "gdpno69"
It shows dist2WP,
Altitude,
Course as slider,
Gliderate over Ground calulated over 10 Samples,
Dir. to WP al slider,
Altitude of Waypoint,
and maybe the next Version
required Gliderario to reach the WP.(If Kruch give us a new Version with HECL Access to wp-alt and so on.At the Moment alway 0.
Statusline shows the Filling Level of the 60 Sample FIFO.
2FView
Showing best speed to fly calculated on the polare, wind and "downwind"
All in One view
showing all important information in one screen
This CMS is not much testet,if you find a Bug report it here.
Helpfully is a NMEA Log of TB.
Changelog:

It's great to see quite different CMS...
Not only my CMS in a "(slightly) modified" version...
Of course you can use everything from my CMS you want!

Hi ThomasT!
Absolutely great theme - THANKS A LOT for the effort!!!
Building on your and MaleSMurf's work, I took the liberty of adding another screen/view to your theme.
Since I don't like switching screens in-flight, I was aiming to get all essential information for XC paragliding on one screen.
From top to bottom
* Time, next waypoint, distance to next waypoint
* Waypoint alti, bearing (azi in trekbuddy slang - I'm used to the Garmin wording, though)
* Required glide ratio, heading (course in trekbuddy slang)
* Analog vario
* Speed and haeding
* Digital vario
* Altitude, glide ratio
* Wind speed and direction
* wind-status, sat, fix, status
The result works quite well for me.
Let me know what you think...
Attached the additional/changed files
1) cms.air16.xml, air_panel16.png: Added view
2) air.hcl: Very slightly modified version of thomast's air.hcl: Changed only one line so that changing the vario axis works also in the new view.
Cheers,
Troubadixx.

Hallo thomast,
ich hätte noch 2 Fragen - since I don't speak HECL (yet)
Please don't be harsh on me if I misinterpreted something and below am writing BS
In your theme, for the "analog" as well as for the digital vario, with air::climb-05 you're using a 5 sample average of the vertical speed. You state that you're doing this calculation by hand because of the vertical speed bug.
Two questions:
1) Why not use a "one-sample" value for the analog display (vs. an integrated sample average for the digital display)?
That way you would add some information (beyond having the same values available in analog as well as in digital form).
2) Could we get rid of the 2nd and 3rd decimal place in the digital vario? How to?
I know already how I'll use the additional space in panel_16: I could build an altitude over time profile similar to MailSMurf in his "Alt" panel http://www.trekbuddy.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2923
Looking forward to hearing from you,
cheers,
Troubadixx.

Hi Troubadixx,
Quote:
1) Why not use a "one-sample" value for the analog display (vs. an integrated sample average for the digital display)?
I think the GPS Altitude is not stable enough.
If the Altitude is going up only 1 Digit(1m) the "one sample vario" would show 1m/s climbing,if altitude go back 1Digit it shows 1m/s sinking.
1 Digit over 5 Samples give only 0.2m/s
Quote:
That way you would add some information (beyond having the same values available in analog as well as in digital form).
But the digital one can also show 20m/s the analog not.
At the Moment i calculate 10sample and 5sample vario, so maybe the next Version could show the 10sample digitalvario,sometimes interesting to see if it gos up and down in a thermal.

2) Could we get rid of the 2nd and 3rd decimal place in the digital vario? How to?
I want also only 2 decimal places but hecl gives me a 0 a third,i don't no why.
If you can life with 1 decimalplace and a following 0, this should do that (not tested):
set air::climb-05 [/ [floor [* 10 [/ [* 1000 $air::alt-d05] $air::time-d05 ]]] 10]
It works so:
eg 1.123456 * 10 = 11.23456
floor 11.23456 = 11
11 /10 =1.1(0)
Quote:
I know already how I'll use the additional space in panel_16: I could build an altitude over time profile similar to MailSMurf in his "Alt" panel.
This my arrays:
air::time {} containing the timestamps in ms(since 1980 or so)
air::alt {} containing absolute alt in m
the newest values are on top(61) the oldest is in nr 0
air::n is the length of the array,in the moment initialized with 60,after start 1 more(61)
Ich hoffe die Antwort hilft dir,bin gespannt auf die neue TB version.
Die soll heute nacht kommen und sound unterstuetzen.
Vielleicht bringen wir das Vario noch zum Piepsen...
Gruss,
Thomas

Hallo Thomas,
thanks a lot for the quick reply and your comprehensive explanations.
I guess I'll play around a bit with the integration interval of the vario. I'll do some practical in-flight/in-paragliding testing and see how it goes...
The decimal place behavior thing is strange. Thanks for the hints.
The sound feature sounds promising - looking forward to it
(On the other hand: The gps based "vario simulation" will keep the fundamental disadvantage of being less accurate and less responsive than the "real" barometric vario... So I'll probably keep my Solario for the time being )
Viele Grüße,
Troubadixx.

Let me here about youre experience, i am very interested.
If you set Treckbuddy logging to nmea, you can play later with the hecl Parameter at Home in Simulation Mode.

Sorry BlueDragonFS,
its to much work.
it is not complicate(now changes in the hecl are needed)but it need many time to adjust the Fontsizes etc.
And i cannot test it, because i have not a Mobile with that resolution.
But try you're self,if you have questions i try to help.
Greetings,
Thomas

Hi,
at first you need a installed Trekbuddy with Version 0.9.84 or higher.
than copy the Content of the ZIP File in the Tb UI Folder:
E:\Trekbuddy\ui-profiles
if you install TB onto the memory card.
thats it.
Start TB,
press two times #
now you should see the CMS
with left and rigth key you can switch between the different views.
Thomas
