I have been using TB with GREAT succsess for some weeks now
I have some BSB4 sea-maps (maptech) I bought and use with Oziex. on my boat. It would be fantastic to be able to convert theese to TB, but when I try to change the image to .PNG, Ozie tells me this is not possible.
Has anybody a solution to this??

How does ozi tell it to you? Error message or no such item in the menu?
Some versions of ozi have problem with exporting maps to bitmap pictures. Maybe try another version/build of ozi. _________________ The best thing a man can do for themselves is to help to the others.

I have the latest verson of Ozie, and its a full verson.
The problem here is that the BSB4 maps (.cap) is protected maps. When I bought them I had to use a code to install them. When try to convert the image files it tells me that this is not possible due to maps beeing protected.
I have however been using "img2osf" to convert them to my PDA, having it connected during coversion as described in Oziexplorer for converting the maps to a CE device.
I was hoping that someone knew of a simular program "img2osf" to convert this type of maps to TB?
This maps are actually only scanned sea maps I quess, but sold under Maptech.
But they work so fine with Ozie CE, and Oziexplorer, and having them in TB would give me the chance of not bringing PC, or PDA on the boat.

Hi Kruch,
Thanks for the tip. I went in to Your link and downloaded the aplication, but this was WAY over my head. It needed to installed via "MSYS", so I downloaded that, but then I blanked out.
Wish there was a program to convert this that had an .exe file to be installed. But thanks a lot anyway.
The output file from "img2osf" is an ".osfx3" file.

I just downloaded libbsb-0.0.7-win32.zip from SF, unzipped it, and bsb2png.exe seems usable (ok, it printed usage help as I have no bsb map)... so, what did you mean by "installing via MSYS"?
osfx3 or ozfx3? OziE can save ozfx3 map to image (png) file!
Edit: libbsb project seems to be a bit old, unfortunately.. |

Hi again Kruch,
Yes you are right, its ozfx3. But the problem lies in the BSB4 maps, Ref: Oziex. I have to have my PDA conected to convert this maps, due to maps been registered. This is what I have been doing with my PDA, but my wish is to use this maps with TB.
Ref Oziexplorer home page:Added support for BSB4 maps - note - your PDA must be connected to the PC when the conversion is started - at this stage you must be using the development version of OziExplorerCE to use the converted charts, but you also must have it to convert the BSB4 charts.
and quote:Using BSB Version 4 Charts
Before OziExplorer can use BSB 4 charts the chart CD must be registered to unlock the charts.
After the Dll's are installed OziExplorer will work with registered BSB version 4 charts exactly the same as any other BSB chart
My maps are bought, and I have the reg code. but cant use the on TB.
I guess I will give up for now, but if anybody comes with a solution, am VERY happy to hear about it.

P.s "Msys" was refered to in the "readme" install file, and I got no .exe file, I will try again. |

| Maybe I'm too naive, but - you said BSB4 maps are converted to ozfx3 during transmition to PDA, so - can you download those ozfx3 files from PDA back to your PC?? |

The files That is been transfered to the PDA are tagged, this is why I have to have it conected durung transfere with "image2osfx".
If I try to save them on my PC again, I have to open them in Ozie, and back to squer one..
I really aprisiate the effort for helping me, but at this stage I am stuck. I will post any development in BSB4.
