UPDATE 02.04.2009

BUGFIX:

Wrong fontsize on BIK, RUN, LAP panels corrected
Thanks to wowi!

UPDATE 31.03.2009

CHANGES:

=> Highres altitude graphics:

Now the altitude graphics has a resolution of 120 x 54 pixels.
Timing (1s/10s/30s/60s) and resolution (1m/5m/10m/20m) can be switched by keypress ("2" or "up").
The base (bottom/middle/top) can be switched with a doubleclick.

=> Ascending/descending altitude:

Experimental ascending and descending altitude added.

=> New additional panel for runners (9th):

LAP panel with 10 LAP timer for runners with KEY- and GPS-mode.
Right now, only the KEY-mode is working. Just start and stop the timer with keypress ("2" or "up").
A doubleclick resets all timer and changes the LAP-mode.

=> Distance counter on GEO- and NAV-panel

With keypress ("2" or "up") the counter can be set to "000".
Now it's easier to walk a given distance on a given course for geocachers.

!! Feedback and bugreport are welcome !!

---------------------------------------------------------------

UPDATED to 0.9.84 devel (technology preview version)

The new 0.9.84 devel version of TrekBuddy supports HECL (www.hecl.org) to do user-defined calculations in CMS (HECL core only in first phase).

I coded the following features for my multipanel CMS to show the use of HECL using the TrekBuddy technology preview version.

=> speed-indiactaor:

Shows whether your speed is less, equal or higher than average speed.
The speed-indicator is only shown, if the speed is higher than 2 km/h.

=> cache (waypoint) direction:

Shows you the direction which you should go to reach the cache (waypoint) with arrow and text.
The cache direction works with a resolution of 22.5°
The cache direction only changes, if the speed is higher than 2 km/h.

=> altitude graphical display:

Shows you the altitude with a curve. You can change the timing and resolution by pressing the "2"(up-arrow)-key several times.
Timing: 10/30/60/120 sec (actual setting is displayed on the left side)
Resolution: 5/10/20/50 m (actual setting is displayed on the right side)
If you are pressing the "2"-key twice very fast (doubleclick) then you can change where the actual altitude is placed in the display (offset).
There are 3 settings available: top, center and bottom. The actual setting is displayed on the left and right side with a small dot on the scale.
The display shows the overall minimum and maximum from your trip too.
If the speed is below 2 km/h, the altitude shows no new value.

Well, the HECL-script smurf.hcl is working, but still may contain bugs!!
Remember, this is a preview version. Feedback is welcome!

The new great variables are {course.g-sliding} and {wpt-azi.g-sliding}.
My intension was to have a compass in CMS which can be user defined.
I had the idea of a sliding compass and made some graphics.
In my CMS I put both compasses (wpt-azi/course) one upon the other and now you can easy navigate to the destination!
Well, I would like to see other user defined compass graphics... Wink

I did some redesign to add the great sliding compass to some panels and added 3 new panels.

Right now my CMS has 9 panels:

0: TOP - which contains all kind of informations
1: SPD - Speed-Panel
2: NAV - Navigation-Panel
3: GEO - Geocaching-Panel
4: SAT - Satellite-Panel
5: BIK - Biking-Panel
6: RUN - Running-Panel (PACE...)
7: LAP - LAP panel with 10 timer for runners
8: ALT - Altitude-Panel with graphical display

Feel free to download and use it!!

!! Thanx Kruch for your overwhelming effort and this great software !!

@Bucky Kid

I had the colors already changed back to previous CMS, but not changed the upload files.

I also made some changes at the ALT-panel and will upload the new files later today...

I'm just trying to add altitude overall ascend and descend to the ALT-panel.
The graphics and HECL-script coding are already done. Now I've to do some tests whether it works so far... Wink

hi MaleSMurf,

I dont precisely understand how you manage the image shifting of the compass.
Do you confirm me that when you put an image on a cms with a value parameter like this :

<area x="46" y="81" w="148" h="12" image="smurf_azi-compass.png">
<value>{wpt-azi.g-sliding}</value>
</area>

the value set the image pixel shift ???

because I do not see any other explanation !? (is it a new feature ?)

Hi MaleSMurf ! you always have a length ahead in CMS design Cool Very Happy
Thank you for your commitment and great themes !

Yet I have an issue with the altitude graphical display Sad

I get java.lang.N[...someting...] instead of the graphical altitude display. I suppose there must be some java.lang.N[umerical error] or java.lang.N[ull pointer exception] or something like this ?

The compass works great ... but I really miss the altitude display.

Cheers,
Nibbler.

@vincent

I'll explain you how to use the sliding compass in CMS:

Well, it's quite simple.
I had the idea, to make a compass picture which has exactly 360 pixels.
Two new variables {course.g-sliding} and {wpt-azi.g-sliding} are printing the desired compass section (value of course or wpt-azi) to CMS.

x, y is the position of the compass
h is the hight of the user defined compass graphic
w is the width of the compass segment which shall be displayed

The following code shows the actual compass for course at position x=46, y=99.
The whole compass graphic has 360 x 16 pixels, but only a segment of 148 x 18 will be shown.
"smurf_crs-compass.png" is the whole compass picture.
The actual value of {course} is the middle of the shown segment!
{course.g-sliding} prints the compass section with the parameters x/y/w/h according to the value of {course}
The same does {wpt-azi.g-sliding} with the value of {wpt-azi}...

<area x="46" y="99" w="148" h="18" image="smurf_crs-compass.png">
<value>{course.g-sliding}</value>
</area>

I hope I could explain how to use the new sliding compass feature.

Thanks to Kruch again, to add this really great working feature... Wink

Hi MaleSMurf, are you ready to upload your CMS, or tests still makes? Wink I'm so interesting in!

Could you change the orange color in nightmode? Maybe to white? Or light yellow...

Well, I'm still testing because the asc and desc isn't so good.
The internal asc/desc (asc-t / desc-t) isn't working yet and also not very good.
I did the messurement by myself with HECL-code and will still do some changes.

Maybe I'll upload new files tonight when I'v finished the other things.
The resolution from the altitude graphics will be 140x54
and the GEO panel gets a new feature for geocachers.

And I'll change the nightmode color a bit... Wink
