* I made a few changes to GPX, that is true. I noticed a wishlist comment about it, too. I can revert some or all of the changes, no problem... I'll try t detect if GPX is using GMT or localtime and preserve it, I could also preserve some root meta info (author etc), too, when changing existing content.

* what does slope represent?

* 8310 error - dedicated BB version of TB is needed, I will publish one next time Wink

thanks for {pace} tag. It's seems that it works fine. Will be/is there even average and auto-average one?

Now {pace} is calculated from (very) short-term avg speed, because current speed usually oscilates so I though it would not be useful at all.
Would long-term avg and auto avg speed based pace be useful?

I've just uploaded b5, which should, above all, fix SMS problems and slow by-distance sorting, and some of the issues mentioned above which I could reproduce.

When showing wpt details. First I suspected jbed, but it's the same with my N82. Confused

One more, rather cosmetic. Navigation menu problem.
Scenario:
- load wpts
- sort points by name, try menu, RouteAlong & RouteBack on list (should be ?)
- close menu
- push long key "1", try menu, list is shorter, RouteAlong & RouteBack not on list

I think not, I intend to hide route commands for non-default order.

@AntoxaF next time

I use current speed (now pace) only for interesting on my screen because I can't watch a cell so often during running. More important values are average a stop-average for my trening. I start to know what some km/h value mean in pace, but to see pace direct would be more comfortable. And in future if new feature (from wish list) come to make simply "circle" it would be wonderful for us, runners! Wink

Hi

I'm not sure, whether this is the same problem Celda described on Nov 30th in this thread, but in 0.9.81 the map showed the Geocache Names (when using GPX-Files from geocaching.com) in the map view (or at least one could choose to show them using "*" and "0").
This does not work any more in 0.9.82 beta4.

I've been using Trekbuddy for half a year now and it keeps improving at an amazing rate! Specially the handling of geocaching GPX-Files in 0.9.81 made this tool by far the best for my uses. The new sorting features where the last point on my wishlist Smile Thanks a lot for that!

Cheers,
Tobi-Wan

There are 2 separate issues:
1) I don't know how "geocaching GPX" looks exactly like because this is a specific subformat of a GPX file and in this way www.geocaching.com exports data for premium members only. I use a free wonderful Java application - CachePrinter (http://cacheprinter.bubbles.sk/) instead. I really recommend CachePrinter - in it you can easily define, which elements of the GPX file should be used and what information they should contain e.g. I defined this format for myself (fictive example):
<wpt lat="50.13211666666667" lon="14.3993">
<name>My special cache-TR11 [GCXPW1]</name>
<cmt>[Under the bridge]</cmt>
</wpt>

That's why I asked Kruch what was "prefer GC name" good for.

2) TB really works with the <name> and <cmt> attributes. There was a bug in 0.9.82 beta (1) but it is OK in all the following versions again. And (in my case) pressing 0 (after *) in the "Show all" mode really alternates displayed information as expected:
<name> ... nothing (just a cross) ... <cmt> ... nothing (just a cross) ... <name>

So I don't see any problem concerning this in the current version (last tested 82 beta 5).

Great new betas! Working very fine on my Nokia.

I've tested 0.9.82 beta 4 on a SE P1i.
I get a Certificate Error when open tared atlases.
using untared atlases works fine.

I've read in the Forum it's not working with 0.9.81, too.
Is it fixed in beta 5 already!? could't test already.

EDIT:
MIDlet Error
Trekbuddy tryed to access the Internet. signature s.th.
Do you want to grant access.

@opl79

tar-ed maps on Symbian phones are accessed via TrekBuddyService (see Tools), so TB needs socket permission granted

"BTW: in .jad file is a typo error in your mail address... (0.9.82b4)"
No it is not, kruch@... was already taken ( Evil or Very Mad ), so I had to go with kruhc@...

Pace-avg and pace-avg-auto is definately useful. To me even more important then the current pace.

The current Pace is oscillating a lot for me despite being a "short-term avg speed". I will fiddle with some settings to see if this can be improved (or it just might be my gps?). However, as someone noted, it's difficult to keep looking on the mobile while running so its better with an accurate
longer term avg, than an oscillating short term. Now I have to keep looking at the mobile for 30 sec and calculate and average. For me a longer time pace avg, such as pace calculated on the last 10 sec or even last minute would be great.

Anyhow, thanks the pace-meter and thanks for a great program!

Hi kruch,

It's nice to see new beta version but 0.982beta5 can not installed on my hacked Moto A1200. It shows error message something like "invalid package, installation fail " in Chinese.

kruch wrote:

It is an indication of road raising factor, (delta alt/delta track length) in percentage presentation, we can get the value from pre-defined CMS variable: (alt-d/spd)*100%.

Hope this information helpful. And sorry for my pool English.

There is an product for cycling which can indicate the slope of road.

Will it be possible to let user change waypoint directory while under navigation function?

Sometimes I need to trace back the track I saved before, so I have to move the gpx track file from tracks-gpx/ directory to wpts/ directory to open it, if I can change the directory to tracks-gpx/ then I can open the track and follow the track go home.

Cheers
