As for getting the fix, I can't find the difference between findtheplace and my code... Sad

Upss I'm sorry if that was because of what I've said earlier

The GPS seems to work a bit randomly! Someday It can be clear skies and after an hour of wait you get nothing. Other times, you can't see the sun, and if gets a fix within 2/3 minutes. I wonder why...

This problem is not from TB... it's the E1000 itself. It happens nomatter what application I use.

And TB works as fine as FindThePlace in my phone. The problem is with the phone itself, that sometimes GPS seems almost like doesn't want to work!!
But, you try it the next day, and it works perfectly. It's weird...

As for the maps... ok I see now why the errors. Lesson learned, Thank You! I'll go make some new maps... Very Happy

News: Yesterday i get a strong fix. I run FTP before, and after a fix (5 min) i exit and run BT. Get a fix in a minute. It loads my maps ok, but when switching to another map i have, a "out of memory" error appears non stop. I have to exit and restart BT again. If i don't change map, it work ok. Question: Could it be because of 1500kb free Java Space available in this phone? My maps are in tiles of 240x320.

About the fix's - i'm afraid its related with E1000 internal antenna - is not good enought for a strong and continuous fix's. If the satelites are positioned in a hard angle or so, it's hard to get a fix. Some hours later, it could be better.

About the screen - i'll try a fresh install without enable the full screen. I'll post feedback.

One thing: There is no satelites number information for the fix's, and this version have no waypoint and turn screen light off option.

Reports will go on - to better this good app.

New News:

About the screen: I made a fresh install. Open and the screen is 100% OK. One Top bar with app name, the atlas and a buttom bar with soft keys. I dont change the full screen option in any time. If i touch in the joystick, my top bar is gone, and the image goes up that space. So the white band down appears. But my soft keys are still there. Now i understand that if i made the change in the jad file, what is diferente is that the soft keys bar goes away. But the screen have the same problem - the top bar with the name Trekbuddy come and go... and that create the white strip - bar - whatever you call it. It's funny that if i press menu, and cancel, the screen goes ok. Touching the joystick, goes wrong...

This is something to you Kruch... eh eh.. Laughing

The out of memory error is a problem too ... can you do something???

Is it 0.9.5c, or the devel snapshot?

1.5 MB heap should be fine, SE phones have 1 MB "only" but superior image handling (dedicated video memory or something). Let's google for a solution and hope E1000 does not suck when working with images like eg. Nokia 6680 Confused

What is the color depth of your maps?

I'm working with the snapshot version, from this very thread.

Maps are with color depth of 8.

i´ve tried to make my own maps - but getting always the following message " cz.kruch.track.maps.invalidmapexception: failed to parse calibration file: file:///b/test/set/world.map: java.io.ioexception: invalid handle

thats coming with every map i use/generate - even with the original world map from the trekbuddy application (only when i try to load it manually - the standard world map loads without any problem)

any thoughts on this problem ?
i have the version 0.9.51 from this thread installed

The calibrations map is missing...
The map folder should have a subfolder called "set" with the tiles of the map, a file called "mapname.set" and the "mapname.gmi" or "mapname.map" calibration file. You probably forget to copy this file, as it should be with the original "not-cutted" image map.

Get it Wink

Guess:
Strange. Let's wait for Kruch help...

Kruch:
News: I try the new version. I get no fix yet, but the "jumping" option result in no error indeed. Looks ok now.
Lets see the behavior while a fix.

Question: the provider timing means what (2,2,-1)? Do i need to change this?

Someone earlier in this thread recommends

9999,1,2000 for E1000.

2,2,-1 are defaults for A780... so TB thinks it is tunning on A780 Wink

As to OutOfMemory errors, there's a bug in settings peristence and "forcedGc" option is lost when TB is closed Sad
