The AGPS from Motorola E1000, can retrieve GPS information, as there are a midlet capable of that, instaled with motomidman.
I can have gps with my E1000, and findtheplace.
I can even have mgmaps in the phone, working ok.

Now, is it possible to put E1000 with TrekBuddy... ?
I want to have maps on/offline...

I gues this could be a good challenge...

Thanks for this forum...

I do not think E1000 supports any file API...

Kruch I think that E1000 is using JSR75 for file system access. There are some applications with file system access on the net which are working on this phone.

OK.... so guest, when you start TB in your phone, do you se Load Map/Atlas command?

E1000 is using repackaged (thank you, Motorola.... WHY?!? assholes...) Location API, should not be a big problem...

OK. I install the a-780 version, and it runs. It show an atlas and coordinates.

But if i press start<, it show an error:

Failed to start provider (internal):ah:java.lang.NullPointerException

Looks like - as the phone do not have FSR-179 - it cannot work.

So, like i sayd, is it possible to make it work with E1000 AGPS like FindThePlace can?

Thankx

1. Really? You can load an atlas or a map?? So E1000 is also using motorola file API???

2. What providers are available in Options->Settings->Provider? And what JSR you can see in options->Info->Extra JSR. This is weird... unless JSR179 classes are available, "internal" provider should not be available... Shocked

Edit: I thought motorola location API is repackaged JSR179, but it is a bit different. Never mind, still simple. I'll make an experimental build soon ...

OK, I know about the motorola-specific location API, and I already have a prototype for it, BUT FIRST I would like to know whether E1000 supports any file API - either motorola-specific or jsr75? I mean, with which TB version - generic or a780 - you actually have Load Map/Atlas commands in the menu and can really load a map from memory card?

The map on the screenshot is embedded in the jar, so it says nothing about file access in E1000....

Kruch it must use some file API because there are apps that have access to filesystem. Create a small application that will check what classes are available to class loader. It won't alert the security manager yet. You probably know this, just use Class.forName(...) and catch exception. Couple of such blocks with classes specific to those apis and you have it Wink. Then just give it someone with e1000.

Krunch:

With the generic version it gives me an error, so I install and run the A-780 version of TB.

Then i took thoose images i post, and thought that everything was running except the agps info. Now, with your extra questions i found that i do not see any option to load any Map/Atlas. The inicial atlas (that you said is enbedded in the app) is the only one i have.

So, now i cannot answer to that question...

I guess i better get a map or atlas...

Regards
PMoto
