Direction icons are specific for routes, wpts icons rather for POI or map names. As long as TB interprets routes and ordered wayponits the same way, we will have such problems.
Complex gpx files support is needed |
It was requested by users to support navi along a sequence of wpts, or trkpts.
@billy06: Route planners found a trick to use sym for direction icons in CMS, where the element value is icon index to icons set image.
Anyway - if sym will resolve to custom icon on the map screen, it 1) will not break CMS 2) for generated route plans using CMS-sym trick, if icons file like 1.png are provided, route will be displayed with direction icons, which could look quite cool.
Or am I wrong... ?
PS: 2 syms is not allowed by GPX schema. |

Yes, and such support still should be available.
Support for complex files can be active if file content is indeed complex (means both ie <wpt><trk> in one file).
Because we have now possibility to see line objects on map for both trail $ route, maybe it's time to think about route points presentation a bit different way. (No need to show traveled points etc).

I suggest to not touch trick routes solution, because it works and it is possible to destroy a lot.
Rather build extension with <sym> for icon names, and next open a way in <link><type> for CMS symbols
Idea with 1.png looks well for first view, but not the same sized symbols are used on CMS and map
So differences are:
- new set of directions & POIs icons for map screen
- symbols font used for CMS as now (what about POIs on CMS ?)
- no way to have both direction nad POI icon in gpx file for point in <sym>

Yes, I know. Because of that I started with "if you can use two ..." |

yes is what i ment no need for a seperate tag, i use <sym> for my cms to display cache type so this would work fine _________________ HTC Sensation, Nexus 7 3G, nokia 5800. web:www.thetrekbuddies.co.uk . Twitter:http://twitter.com/TheTrekbuddies |
