My understanding og [b]hegi[b]'s comments is that you can save tracklogs, but not memory card (I do not remember the proper fs root...)

Try setting Tracklogs dir to "file:///fs/", it seems that tracklog filename is too long for mmc.

I have 30400x17200 Cool

"as tar"? Why do you use tar-ed maps on SXG75?

Eg. http://www.uschovna.cz/en/deposit.php is fine up to 10 MB or so. Please send me both calbration file and the whole image

I am not able install RC3 signed version on SXG75. If I generate new JAD, installation works OK.

Hi kruch! First of all thank you very much for this GREAT phone application. I think it's really the best gps java app for mobile phones (i've tested several similar applications). Maybe the only lack could be a satellite monitor to look for sat geometry and signal quality.
Anyway I encountered a problem trying to write a custom datum in jad: It seems that TB does'nt recognise International ellipsoid (wrote "International"); is it true or do I have to write it in another way? Thanks a lot and happy 2007!!!

I've just installed the latest signed 0.9.5b version on my K750i and it works great - you're a total hero Kruch!! Very Happy

Well done for un-crippling the K750i - it's fantastic being able to have a load of maps on my 2Gb card and load up as required without the access prompts. And, since there's no JAR size limit, I've just successfully tested a 90Mb map of my entire local area (35x45km @ 400pixel/km) - excellent stuff, you are indeed the man! Cool

There is a short list of .jad defined datums parameters (similar to old TB versions)

Datum-1: S-42 Poland{Krassovsky 1940,23.74,-123.83,-81.81}=map:Pulkovo 1942 POL
Datum-2: PND1925{Bessel 1841,633,33,456}=map:Borowa Gora
Datum-3: S-42 Czech{Krassovsky 1940,26,-121,-78}=map:Pulkovo 1942 CZE
Datum-4: S-JTSK{Bessel 1841,589,-76,-480}=map:S-JTSK CZE
Datum-5: India and Nepal{Everest (1956),295,736,257}=map:India and Nepal
Datum-6: AGD 66{Australian National,-133,-48,148}=map:Australian Geodetic 1966
Datum-7: AGD 84{Australian National,-134,-48,149}=map:Australian Geodetic 1984
Datum-8: CH-1903{Bessel 1841,674,15,405}=map:CH-1903
Datum-9: NAD27 (CONUS){Clarke 1866,-8,160,176}=map:NAD27 CONUS
Datum-10: Potsdam{Bessel 1841,606,23,413}=map:Potsdam Rauenberg DHDN

If someone else would share own datums defs - maybe is better to have special topic for such info like ellipsoids, datum names etc.

Nice Very Happy I still don't get what is the advantage of embedding a huge map in the .jar over just loading it from the memory card?

First, thanks for trekbuddy. I think its just fantastic, and even tho i only know of it for 3 weeks and the security confirmations on my device are really annoying, i've been using it a lot. Its quite cool for geocaching, too.

Also, kudos for having it signed.

However, my SE K800i doesnt like the signed 0.95rc3. Installing it directly on the phone via the jad-file results in "Operation Failed". Using the "Device Explorer" from SE SDK, i get the following message:

Code:

Internal method error: poin-2 OAFcode=45 EXEcode=18
Application Management, error in phone.
Execution Enviroment, authentification failure.

Unsigned installation (using the .jar only) works, of cause.

The SDK's emulator doesnt complain when starting via the .JAD, but asks for file-system permissions nontheless.

Since I have some experience with midlets on the K800i, I know it can be quite a bitch, especially when it comes to signing. It turns out the K800 even compares contents of the .jad - file and the MANIFEST.MF contained in the .JAR. So I took a look at the .jad and the MANIFEST.MF, and it turns out there are differences, the most obvious being (code from MANIFEST.MF):

Code:

MIDlet-Permissions-Opt: javax.microedition.io.Connector.file.read,java
 x.microedition.io.Connector.file.write ,javax.microedition.io.Connect
 or.bluetooth.client,javax.microedition.media.control.VideoControl.get
 Snapshot,javax.microedition.io.Connector.sms,javax.wireless.messaging
 .sms.receive

Notice the wrapping and indents (e.g. ...read, java[line break][space]x.microedition...)? Obviously, it differs from the information in the .JAD.

I tried to duplicate this into the .jad but naturally, the phone doesn't know a thing about the Class "java[line break][space]x.microedition.io.Connector.file.write) and hence refuses to install the midlet.

Since I cannot try to fix this myself (I would change the SHA of the .jar file rendering the signing useless), KrUcH, would you care to fix and re-sign it yourself? Maybe its a good idea to remove "Ant-Version" and "Created-By" in the manifest, too.

Gee, I just hope I didnt do something else wrong ^^. Hope this helps anyways.

Greetings from Dresden,

Thomas

Interesting info! This may also be why installation fails on SXG75. I'll have a look at it!

i confus, i had used fs dir in past und didt work but now thay show a R in right corner.....

i us tar because sxg has prob with many files on mmc, cant read all, i think 300 is max, in tar-file ar 780file, i test it .
every slice is 300x400, if i make biger slice tb show java memory error i think, but don´t knwo 100%. " i tested untared file, slow no map and get error Java.lang.illegalArgumentexception:underlying strem is null and the sxg has found 334 of 780 fils in the set direktory"

edit. i have found it, the map-file is the prob, i get a bad file from ozi but now its ok Smile
so i can try bigger files *g*

thank you and very nice software, i gonig testing the log Smile

Dave.a & wuerzig: can you check your phone trusts the following certficate

Code:

Owner: EMAILADDRESS=premium-server@thawte.com, CN=Thawte Premium Server CA, OU=Certification Services Division, O=Thawte Consulting cc, L=Cape Town, ST=Western Cape, C=ZA

Or, have you ever successfully installed midlet signed with certificate issued by Thawte?

Yeah, valid until 2020... i'll try to find a thawte signed app tho to double-check that

Correction:

That was the Internet Certificate.

After searching the net, it turns out vodafone (my K800 has vodafone branding), in their infinite wisdom, removed Thawte and Verisign Code Certificates from the Phone. It only supports Geotrust, Sony Ericsson, and Vodafone CA's.

I think its finally time i got my phone debranded. Its only 5 bucks, anyway.

Update:

Well, I figured out a way to upload a Code Certificate to a K800i. Lets see if it works. But to tell you in advance: Its a pain in the ass and will take hours.
