some trouble with new installation of TB on N95 (symbian S60 v3)
- I've installed v0991 two years ago with TBService
OK
- I've reinstalled v0994 last year - no pb (button 3 worked)
- I've just re-installed v1070: I've trouble with the backlights options (button 3) : service not accessible.
I suppose because I used an old version of TBService??
I uploaded the new version/Signed it/installed it
I can't install it (file corrupted)
Is it because TBService is arlready installed ??
But I can't found any TBService icon nor TBservice.exe ???
is Somebody can help me? |

can't sign the service with symbiansigned.com
Does it need to make account there and pay for it or what.
Do u know a simple (possibly free) website to sign the trekbuddy service?

I managed to get it signed at http://www.symbiansigned.com
The trick is to register with an email address from a less known provider. I used my workplace address. If your Internet service provider gave you one, try that.
To login use the email address (not your name or username) and password (see the upper left corner). Then you enter your IMEI.
Upload the sis file and you'll receive the signed version by email.
Or download the *.cer and *key file and use SignSIS-GUI to sign the app. |

Thanks a lot, mate!
worked like a charm.
i've used http://10minutemail.com/ and its fine.
The most important: email is the username.
thanks again

Try to use TB without the native app first (uncheck Settings->Misc->use native service). It may work ok.
If not, use the version for S60 3rd and ignore the warning that the app is not designed for the Symbian you have. |

thanks,
I work with TB 1.0.11 on my Nokia C7 and it works just fine. Maps and Atlases are located on my SD-Card. The only subject is the loading-time of Tar'ed Maps.
BTW: The signing as desribed in http://www.trekbuddy.net/wiki/index.php/Tools#TrekBuddyService_.28Symbian_application.29 does not work as described. Symbiansigned requires a registration, and my Mailprovider seems to be blacklisted (gmx.de)
I've also tried freesigner (v1.0), but during installation of the selfsigned sisx it tells me that "Requested Programacess not allowed (Angeforderter Programmzugriff nicht erlaubt)" an i can't find any settings for capabilities in freesigner.

Try a GMX "FunDomain" like "@fahr-zur-hoelle.org". You will find it in your GMX profile under My GMX > E-Mail > E-Mail-Adressen.
Up to 3 free aliases are possible. _________________ Nokia N8 (Belle Refresh) |

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Important Information:
i have updated my Nokia C7 to Symbian Anna (SW-Version 022.014) and now the loading time of tared maps is 10 times faster than before!!!!!!
In a car (50km/h) it is not fast enough to have tared OSM-Maps in resolution 16, but by foot it works!!
The Java-Version is 2.2 with Symbian Anna.
I think i don't need the service any more.......
You can put the Nokia C7 to the list of Devices. It works with the internal GPS an Tared maps on a memory card.

IMO that is far from acceptable performance. So it's better to use the helper. _________________ Nokia N8 (Belle Refresh) |

Hi everybody,
before i updated my C7, it took 2-5 Minutes to see even a Tile in Treckbuddy (tared OSM-Maps in resolution 16), now it works within 30 sec. Its a big acceleration.
I will try to install the service and report if there is a further acceleration.

As a result of experiments on Samsung phones, I made a few little tweaks concerning tar map loading common to all platforms as well as symbian service specific.
Probably nothing significant, but my hope is I did not screw it. Here is the build:

|
|
Hi there,
which is the right version for a Nokia5800XpressMusic with symbian s60v5?
Until Trekbuddy-Service v60 it was the S60 3rd-version. But installing the signed v80, the installer says: "wrong version for your phone".
But there are only 2 version offered: 3rd and symbian^3.
Thanks for your help and this great application! |
