Which version of TB are you using ? You need at least the 0.79

Could you please, attach the following files of your phone to me:
- contents of folder ui-profiles
- the gpx file with the waypoints
- the used trekbuddy.jar and trekbuddy.jad files

I will try to use the emulator to findout what is wrong ...

Thanks.

Here the same problem. No arrow signs visible.

Is it also possible to have a better method for display the text? Example: see the screenshots above. The '6' is cut into 2 parts at the end of the line so it is almost impossible to read this.

Nice work by the way Wink

I found the solution for the problem that I have'nt direction signs.

Direction-numbers are in the gpx-file between <ele>*</ele> tags. But the cms-tag is <sym>
That solved the problem for the right sign. For the left (previous) sign, there is no implementation i think.

Maybe is it possible to custom create tags such as <custom1> <custom2> in the gpx-file and that trekbuddy can read these tags only if you write in the cms {wpt-custom1} ?

but i'm waiting for the next release Very Happy ...[/i]

To tchelo_mgf:

Hello, can you add to ConvWPT support for diacritical points? (par example: á, é, í, š, ž, ľ, č, ť, ř, ô, ů, etc.). Becouse in Czech, Slovak and Poland languages we use it a ConvWPT can't show it....

=> we must text from GMtoGPX convert in program SMS text 3.1 and it is poisonous....

Thank you.

@David.G:
Could you send me a example of .GPX file with those characters?
Are you able to open it on TB ?

@Kruch:
I have some comments about the unicode format supported by TB:
- If I use the tool GM2GPX, in portuguese language (or czech), and create a GPX with the text generated by this tool, I'm not able to open the GPX file on TB due to special characters like á, é, ó, ... generating an error message.
- So, on my tool, I created a filter algorithm to exchange special chars into ASCII chars.

I need your help about the unicode format supported by TB, and how to convert the GPX file in order to display special characters on TB CMS Screens.

Thanks.

What error do you get in TB? Can you send me a sample?

I think the problem in encoding/format mismatch. I tried to save the generated GPX in Unicode format and it worked well, but when saved as text file it did not due to mismatch between encoding specified in xml declaration and the real (OS default I guess) one...

Yes, we using a excel sheet to create a "previous symbol" information to show on CMS navigation themes.

The actual exel sheet GPX1_3cz_upr (whitch is compatible with ConvWPT 1_6) => you can find here: http://www.trekbuddy.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1980&start=0
Instructions: (by lenek)
Quote:
Find a route at google maps and transfer it by GmapToGpx - don´t click at FULL!!!!!
Open in ConvWPT - don´t click anything !!!! Only enter Load GPX and then Save GPX and finally Save.
Open gpx file generated by ConvWPT and remove all data.
Open excel file GPX1_3.
All data insert to A1 and from column J copy the new one and this insert back to the text file and save.

Quote:
I have some improvements to make in my tool:
- Create an option on ConvWPT to create this "previous symbol" automatically
- Create an "automatic textual search" based on keywords in description field, in order to detect roundabout exits or another trafic components for any language.

It will be great! Laughing

@Kruch:
The problem is caused when I create a .GPX file with the contents of the route generated by the GM2GPX tool. I copy the contents and paste into a text file using the Notepad. I have problems with unicode format convertion, because the Notepad is using the ASCII format and not the UTF-8 encoding.

How can I create a .gpx file using the copied contents from GM2GPX, using the correct unicode format ? That's the point ! I have to implement this conversion inside of my tool instead to filter the special characters, replacing by ASCII chars ...

I tried it and it worked for me. You can select UTF-8 (and also Unicode) in Notepad, can't you?

Saving file with encoding in Notepad is not problem, I think.
It is clear that gpx file in UTF-8 format is not correctly open by converter, used version of ocx can produce wrong characters.
We just need clear info which file format should be used as input for converter. Unicode ? Ansi ? UTF-8 ?
The easiest way is just copy content from GMapToGPX via clipboard (without Notepad).
Other think.
Bug - run-time error 384 is visible if you try to minimize converter window.

Hello tchelo_mgf,

coul'd you implement the conversion inside of your tool (nice!) also for the special characters (ä,Ä,ö,Ö,ü,Ü,ß) by replacing by ASCII chars ...

Thanks
