after having recorded a gpx-track with trekbuddy, the tracklog can be moved from tracks-gpx folder to wpts folder.
then it can be loaded into trekbuddy using "route along". moreover, it's useful to set POI's not to be displayed.

after this procedure, the track is diplayed nicely on the map. however, you have to finish recording first to do this. i tried to show this on the picture attached...

it's nice to have a quick look at where you been without using a computer at all but i think, it shouldn't be too much work to let trekbuddy do that itself and actually display the recorded track while travelling so you can see directly where you been...
also, it shouldn't be too hard to do trackback then, as it is the same function that is in navigation already anyway.

maybe, the trackpoints have to be summarized while loading; e.g. only a trackpoint every 30 meters or so...

do you get what i mean?[/img]

Great idea! Thanks!

I hope kruchs will implement "native" track display soon anyway Smile

In latest version you can have both record a track and have "live trail" shown at the same time.

Technically, these two are a bit different when it comes to what points they record. I did not have enough time to compare which "covers" the track better, so that I could unify the algorithms... Anyone? Wink
